while also protecting parental rights

ENCNow

Florida's legislature has passed new legislation to strengthen laws against sexualization of children in the schools and protecting parental rights concerning education of their children..  It builds upon similar laws passed earlier.  The bill passed the state senate by 27 to 12 after passing the House by a wide margin.

The bill will prohibit teaching of radical gender theory in grades K to 8.  Previous law had limited it only in greades K-3.  Students cannot be asked about "preferred pronouns" and schools must provide forms for parents to register complaints about obscene or age inappropriate books.

According to bill sponsor, Rep. Adam Anderson, the bill "requires that lessons for Florida's students be age-appropriate, focused on education, and free from sexualization and indoctrination."
