Iowa Governor signs law to stop sexualization of children in schools | Eastern NC Now
Gender identity, sexual subjects prohibited kindergarden to 6th grade
Iowas's governor, Kim Reynolds< has signed a bill into law to protect young children from sexualization in the schools. SB496 prohibits discussion of sexual topics including "gender identiry" in kindergarden through 6th grade. It also requires schools to remove books with inapproptriate sexual content from liberaries and requires schools to notigy parents if their children start using pronouns or a name that do not reflect their biological gender. It requires schools to post online a list of library materials so that parents can review them and requires parental consent tor school surveys of students.
