Multiple Canadian provinces refuse to cooperate on national gun confiscation | Eastern NC Now

Trudeau's liberals banned 2,000 guns, required "buy back" confiscation

ENCNow

Canada's Liberal national government's gun confiscation program, termed a "buy back" is running into opposition in many Conservative run provinces, as provincial governments are refusing to cooperate.  Provincial governments in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario are not assisting the national program, and in most cases local police in those provinces are joining the provincial police in not participating.

The Trudeau government banned 2,000 different types of guns, and the current Carney government is following through on it.  Even the police unions have announced their opposition to the scheme.

Alberta's Conservative Provincial Premier Daniele Smith declared that "Alberta is not going to do anything to help" the federal gun confiscation, and that the federal government "should focus on guns in the hands of criminal gangs, not sports shooters and hunters."
