What arrogant idiots the progressives running our county government are. Citizens are suffering from massive inflation with skyrocketing gas and food prices, and instead of the tax cut our commissioners could and should have given us, they pile on even more spending which will be certain to raise our taxes next year, when we will probably be in a deep recession if not worse. Most of this spending was for unnecessary fluff like the $95,000 director of communications. While our population has shrunk by 3,000 people according to the census, our governing progressives have added MORE county employees. This is an outrage.

Progressives range from the fake "Republican" Frankie Waters, who was an active Democrat until just before he filed to run as a "Republican" for commissioner, and then has functioned as a Democrat since he has been on the commission, to admitted Democrats like Ed Booth and Jerry Langley. They are all the same, the Democrat progressives and the Fifth Column "Republican" progressives. Frankie Waters is the Mitt Romney of Beaufort Countyu.

I used to respect Randy Walker, but after he was publicly attacked by Frankie Waters at the Beaufort GOP candidate forum, even though he is not on the ballot this year, he has cowardly caved in to Frankie Waters on this spendthrift budget. Maybe Randy saw the "cancel culture" jihad that Frankie Waters unleashed to try to destroy Stan Deatherage's small business, and had concerns Frankie might target him too.

Our Beaufort County government is the same sort of swamp we have in Washington, DC, just on a smaller scale. To drain the swamp, the most urgent task is to defeat Frankie Waters, the most vile snake in the swamp.

Kudos to Locke. Raspberries to Senator "Medicaid Jim" Perry who voted for and worked for this socialistic legislation to balloon this welfare program. With "Republicans" like Jim Perry, or PHil Berger, who needs Democrats? I am very very sorry to be stuck with this liberal twit as our senator.

This is a massive spending increase for Beaufort County and for a lot of totally unnecessary things. It will almost certainly set up a tax increase next year. Frankie Waters is pulling the wool over our eyes by being Santa Claus with spending the year he runs for reelection only to be up being Scouge the next year after his election is behind him. Tax and spend politicians like Frankie Waters are a disgrace.

It is things like this rape of the taxpayers that should motivate every conservative voter to be highly motivated to vote to remove spendthrifts Frankie Waters and Ed Booth from the county commission. To say they spend like drunken sailors is an insult to drunken sailors because at least the sailors are spending their own money.

Depending on wind and solar for a higher generation capacity also creates a blackout risk because both wind and solar are intermittent producers of electricity. At night, when it is cloudy or foggy or panels are covered with dew or ice or show, solar does not produce. If the wind is not blowing or is blowing too hard, then wind does not produce. Europe found this out with a months-long period of very light winds last summer, wrecking havoc with wind power production. An Australian state had a statewide blackout when strong spring storms caused wind turbines to automatically shut down, causing a cascade effect across the grid.

Frankie Waters showed his true colors as a tax and spend liberal in his first term as commissioner and if memory serves his very first tax vote. Not only did he vote to raise taxes but he made a comment that he understood why those up for election in the next cycle would vote against the tax increase. That shows how staggered terms allows politicians to stiff the taxpayers. We need to go back to two year terms for commissioners to hold their feet to the fire.

When Republicans controlled Congress and the Presidency, they delivered a tax cut for the taxpayers. Republican control of the NC General Assembly has delivered several tax cuts for NC taxpayers, the most recent being last year. If Republicans really controlled the Beaufort County Commission, they would be delivering tax cuts, but that does not happen because Republicans do NOT really control the county commission. We have fake Republicans, call them RINOs, DIANs (Democrats In All but Name) or DIDs (Democrats In Drag). These trans-partisans are like transexuals, instead of boys trying to be girls, they are nominal Republicans trying to be Democrats. Frankie Waters is the worst of the lot. After being an active lifelong Democrat, Waters switched his registration just a few months before filing for commissioner as a Republican. As a commissioner, Frankie Waters votes like a Democrat, and he allies with the Democrats for control, refusing to even consult the majority of commissioners elected as Republicans.

Our taxes are too high and big spender Frankie Waters is the reason why they are.

Great news! Tandy and Stan are both solid friends of the taxpayer, while Frankie Waters is a big spender and Slann won't tell us where she stands. Stan Deatherage has made motions this year to cut taxes and Frankie Waters consistently votes against them. Frankie wants to drown us in taxes. We taxpayers can figure out easy enough who our friends are, as well as our enemies. We need to work hard to elect Stan and Tandy in November to get a pro-taxpayer majority on the county commission. Go Tandy!

The Democrats in the legislature seem to have the same goal as Frankie Waters on spending, namely broadband, but we have to remember that Frankie WAS a Democrat until a few months before filing for commissioner, and has regularly done backroom power deals with the Democrats. Broadband is on the cusp of becoming old technology is the face of Elon Musk's Starlink and similar technologies.

With a state budget surplus, the Republican legislative majority needs to do the basic Republican thing and cut taxes. One thing we do NOT need is the Obamacare Medicaid expansion which polls show GOP voters overwhelmingly oppose.

It is good to see Tandy Dunn win one of the slots for the general election. He is a friend of the taxpayers on tax and spend issues. His addition to the county commission would be a win for taxpayers.

I wondered about the colors of Frankie Waters signs - black, red, and white - the colors of Nazi Germany (the German federal republic is black, red, and yellow). I don't think i have ever seen that color combination used before in NC politics. What is wrong with red, white, and blue?

Climate alarmism is a tool of the far left to attack free enterprise and democracy. Tilting at their windmills raises costs for every citizen. The immediate past President of the Czech Republic, Dr. Vaclav Klaus, hit the nail on the head when he called climate alarmism "a budding totalitarian ideology that is the greatest threat to freedom, democracy, and prosperity in the world today."

Biden is pushing the agenda of the climate crazies which is causing a huge problem for average Americans in our energy bills. Many of these climate crazy groups are Russia funded. Unfortunately, we have RINOs in North Carolina doing the same thing on our electricity prices - House Speaker Tim Moore, Senate President Phil Berger, and others including our own backstabbing senator, Jim Perry. They are all in cahoots with the climate crazies and will run our electric rates to the moon with the legislation, HB951 thay passed last year.

In doing some spring cleaning yesterday, I ran across an old political postcard that reminds me of the ads I am hearing on the radio from Tandy Dunn hitting the RINO leader on the county commission over taxes. The postcard was from Gary Brinn attacking Jay McRoy over taxes. It's wording is "Feeling a little lighter in your wallet? --- We've found your pickpocket --- Jay McRoy raised your taxes". The illustration shows a pickpocket lifting a wallet. Jay McRoy was a tax-and-spend RINO commissioner at the time who was allied to Jerry Langley. I don't remember now which election year it was, but pounding on McRoy on taxes led Gary Brinn to defeat Jay McRoy in the GOP primary. Taxpayers can only hope the similar radio ads can do the same for Tandy Dunn against Frankie Waters. Frankie Waters is today's Jay McRoy.

So, if the school board knuckles under to Frankie Waters' pressure, the odds will be that taxpayers will take another hit of about the same amount, meaning we will be ripped off for a total of about $60,000 just to feed Frankie Waters' petty personal little war with Stan Deatherage? Waters' behavior is outrageous. Are the alternatives local or out of town? If this is taking business from a local company and giving it to someone out of town it is even more outrageous.

Government contracts should be on a low bid basis as long as the bidders are competent. Anything else is a fraud on taxpayers. Political bias should not enter into the equation.

When Frankie Waters and his allies prevented a computation of what illegal aliens cost taxpayers in Beaufort County, it seems he was covering up for Biden and the Democrats.

NEVER FRANKIE

As to debates, there have been two already for county commissioners, one from the establishment run by the Realtors and another sponsored by the Beaufort County Republican Party. The conservative candidates for county commissioner appeared at both. Who was missing in action was Sheriff Coleman and the two incumbent school board members.

Red China deliberately exported the Wuhan coronavirus or Covid. While it stopped air travel from Wuhan to other places in China immediately, it left international travel from Wuhan open for a month, allowing the virus to spread around the world. One non-stop flight from Wuhan was to Milan, Italy, where the virus first took hold in Europe, for example.

Some states are suing China over this. Our federal government should do more.

Hmmm! It is pretty clear who Cratch's "Emporer" and Steed's "conservative elected official" is, none other than county commissioner Hood Richardson. I do wish that Cratch's allegation that he runs things on the county commission were true because my tax bill would be a lot lower if he did. Richardson is there constantly supporting efforts to cut taxes and spending, but he and like minded commissioners have been in the minority. Those is actual control have been hiking spending and raising taxes. I would call Richardson the "leader of the opposition" rather than the "Emporer".

Youngkin is indeed making a difference, and Sears supports him although her office does not have the power Youngkin's does. Look at education. By executive order, Youngking got rid of the masks and CRT. On the climate scam, he took Virginia out of the CO2 pact that would have soaked Virginia electric ratepayers. He still needs a Senate majority to repeal the state's extremely expensive "green" energy law. If you cannot see the difference, you are blind.

High taxes and wasteful spending have been endemic in Beaufort County during the reign of the coalition of leftwing Democrats and nominal Republicans. That is one of the biggest issues in the county commission campaign. Stan Deatherage has a strong record of standing up for the taxpayer. Tandy Dunn makes a strong case that he would do so. Frankie Waters has a record as a tax and spend liberal, no different from Jerry Langley. That pair is the new tax and spend twins. Then there is Dawn Slann who seems to want to avoid the issue, but many of her statements seem to indicate that she would team up with Langley just as Waters has done.

Slann has made some of the right noises against government overreach on Covid, but it was Stan Deatherage who actually led efforts to get Beaufort County to reject Roy Cooper's Covid overreach. It looked for a time like the RINOs on the commission would finally do something right and join the conservatives in standing up to Cooper, but in the end, they knuckled under to Langley and voted with the Democrats.

The only way that we are going to get the commission pointed in the right direction on any issue is to break Langley's hold on the RINOs. In his state House race, Langley submitted answers to an online questionaire that showed he was quite far to the left ideologically. Any Republican who would ally with Langley or even "comprosmise" with him is not much of a Republican. The two Republicans running who are trustworthy on that front are Deatherage and Dunn.

The climate alarmists have made dozens of dire warnings that have already passed their ''use by date'' and not a single one of them has come true or even come remotely close to coming true. For example, in 2004, the UN warned that there would be 50 million "climate refugees" by 2010, and in fact there were NONE. The climate alarmists are Chicken Little on steroids.

Biden does not want offshore oil production. He is pushing offshore wind farms, which are a very expensive way to make electricity while slaughtering seabirds and destroying fishing grounds. He cares nothing about the negative impacts on Americans. He is just pushing his far left ideology. Biden's climate policies are both Russia-friendly and even more so China-friendly.

Biden's budget is a massive boondoggle with a lot of things wrong with it. There is a huge amount of spending to promote the globalist jihad on climate alarmism, something that will wreck our economy while helping Russia and China. Biden's wealth tax is pure Marxism.

Voters need to pay attention in the GOP primary for county commissioner. Tax and spend Commissioner Frankie Waters needs to be defeated. Taxpayer champion Stan Deatherage needs to be reelected. Beyond them. Tandy Dunn is another taxpayer champion, while Dawn Slann is a Waters clone.

Lithium is a key component of the climate alarmist jihad against fossil fuels. It takes lots of it to make the batteries for electric cars, for the huge and unreliable storage battery systems for "renewable" energy, and lots of related things. Lithium is also prone to spontaneously combust and start extremely hot fires that are difficult to extinguish and give off toxic and potentially deadly fumes. Quite a few electric car owners have discovered that the hard way, some even losing their houses as well as cars when the lithium fires erupt. It tendency to spontaneously combust is why lithium batteries are not allowed on passenger planes.

The spending in that bill is obscene. Page after page of corrupt pork barrel plus lots of far left programs. The RINOs who voted for it are a disgrace. Worst of all was the total lack of transparency with less than a day to read a bill thousands of pages long. It is the old Democrat mantra - you have to pass the bill to find out what is in the bill. That is just wrong.

I got one of those Murphy postcards in todays mail. It was clearly political, not government business. Monkey business more likely. I went back and looked for who paid for it, and it clearly says it is paid for by the taxpayers, not Murphy's campaign committee. There is Murphy's signature for postage. That is just wrong. Murphy is off of my list of candidates to consider. I will probably go with Cowden who seems to have the most substance of the challengers. If a politician wants to become a swamp rat and abuse the taxpayers this way, it is time to change them for someone else.

Biden, Cooper, and all the Dems are up to their eyeballs in helping Russia get their energy plan imposed on America. Every time they push the absurd climate alarmist argument to dump reliable energy in favor on unreliable and expensive wind and solar is at attack on American energy independence and on consumers' pocketbooks. It is totally shameful that liberal Republicans Moore and Berger are helping them do it to North Carolina. Whatever happened to having Republican elected officials who thought like Republicans? Moore and Berger surely don't. If America is going to get our energy house in order, we need to tell the stinking Russian-funded climate alarmists to take a long walk off of a short pier.

Offshore wind is one of the most expensive ways there is to generate electricity, which would be devastating to electric ratepayers. The Long Island Power Authority, for example, last year contracted to pay the South Fork Wind Project four and a half times the wholesale rate that they pay to conventional power sources. That gets passed on to consumers. Then there are the massive bird kills and other detriments to wildlife from wind turbines.

NC RINOs led by Phil Berger and Tim Moore are complicit with Cooper in adopting Joe Biden's energy plan in HB951.

This is the result of Biden kowtowing to the climate alarmist cult. He is killing us on energy, gas prices now, with a massive increase in electric rates also in the cards. Sadly, the RINOs and Democrats in Raleigh are also kowtowing to the climate alarmist and passed the Biden energy boondoggle in HB 951. Thanks a whole heck of a lot, RINOs Tim Moore and Phil Berger.

Biden and those pulling his strings should be tried for treason for their putting their allegiance in the climate alarmist cabal over any allegiance to the United States. Not restarting our energy production is nothing short of criminal, and I do NOT mean their silly and ineffective windmills which are next to useless. The American people are suffering from their treason.

We need to start getting some real Republicans who represent our base instead of the special interests. The legislature has way too many go-fers for the special interests who ignore the people back home. We have a good state House member but redistricting has put us in a Senate district with one of the worst of the special interest "Republican" spear-carriers, Jim Perry of Kinston in the Senate. Hopefully, conservatives in Craven County have come up with a primary opponent for him.
