This blend of her beautiful voice with Yo-Yo Ma and his cello along with some other unique instruments that build toward the end is captivating! My new favorite. Hey that's a song too.

I don't know if I would admit to having watched that show, however, since I was with you, I have to agree about the hypocrisy. The guy who created the show says that he wasn't trying to bash religion, but to "lampoon hypocrites" having seen much of it growing up going to church. The over-the-top crudeness is a bit much.

Your pictures are wonderful and your bird commentary is most entertaining; so vivid that I could imagine being there. But, oh yes, I WAS there and truly enjoyed all the silly and unique birds. Thanks for going with us and I am grateful that you didn't drown (with those weights tied to your ankles!) I think you even managed to enjoy yourself.

Love "Our Town" as it will always make me think of that wonderful last episode of Northern Exposure. The perfect song for the perfect story, that was Northern Exposure.

Really nice article. I never realized how much I liked this song, but I guess remembering the lyrics as I do is telling.

You must have a stockpile of her best photos.

I'll be sure to stay tuned to the musings of your canines. I'm a dog person, by the way, not so much a cat lover even though we had owned a cat for twenty some odd years and treated her very well, God rest her soul. Cats are too strange and mysterious, where dogs are just plain fun.

What a wonderful account from the mind of Lord Banjo. He is a beautiful and very witty pooch! Loved it.

Stan, you will always be more 'fartsy" than 'artsy', at least to me

Commented on The Geese Situation

If you have never taken a walk on Washington's waterfront at sunset and seen the many flocks of geese fly over to Castle Island at about the same time, with the remaining light of the sun glistening on the river, you have missed out on a truly wonderful sight.

One of my favorite childhood stories. Wish I would have known this musical was at the WHS. I would have surely bought a ticket.

Note to self: Next year make sure to be working on something else while watching this lengthy, sometimes not so entertaining show that really offers nothing of real substance! I can only get excited but so much about seeing the pretty dresses. I'd rather be watching the movies and voting on my personal favorites

Diane. Loved your review of this movie. It was one I would have picked to see but it came and went before I had the chance. Now I will have to wait for Red Box to get it. I also LOVED "Chocolat"! Especially the scene when the town mayor gorged on all that chocolate and passed out in the storefront window. My daughter and I were together that day and had sneaked some Ben & Jerry's, Cherry Garcia into the theater. Great memories!

Just one more reason to feel a great respect for Jim Chrisman. I can think of some other things that should be blocked from the workplace as well. Maybe that has already been addressed with the county gov. employees.

You forgot to mention that our dear oldest daughter Brandia was stricken with the same illness on the same night! While she and I couldn't find any relief from the boredom of uncomfortable tossing and turning, we did enjoy a play-by-play texting of our symptoms.

Stan this was beautifully stated. This is truly a sad time for all who knew her and with a heavy heart I pray that those closest to her will find peace through God's grace.
