Another ''green energy'' big battery goes up in toxic smoke

The RINO special interest bill for the "green energy" grifters, HB951, calls for replacing actual power plants with giant batteries to store electricity from solar and wind farms. This concept has been such a failure everywhere it has been tried that even globalist climate alarmist Bill Gates admits it does not work. When the world's biggest battery, supplied by Elon Musk to the state of South Australia, was called upon to deal with a blackout caused by loss of wind turbine power, it dribbled out a little electricity for 15 minutes and then died.

Now another Australian state, Victoria, has illustrated another side of the big battery problem with a big battery it had recently installed. These big batteries are made of lithium which is both highly flamable and highly toxic in all but minute dosages. As sometimes happens with lithium, a 13 ton giant lithium battery called a "megapack" at Moorabool, Victoria spontaneously combusted and burned, releasing clouds of highly toxic smoke. The battery was made by Tesla and installed by a French firm. Lithium poisoning can cause severe damage to a number of human organs and death.

This follows similar incidents of giant lithium batteries installed for green energy storage that spontaneously combusted and caught fire in South Korea and Belgium. Electric cars and buses have also exhibited this problem, and a shipment of smaller lithium batteries carried as cargo brought down a passenger jet in the Everglades some years ago when they spontaneously combusted in flight.

The RINOs want to inflict this dangerous boondoggle on North Carolina as public policy. Even here in Beaufort County, out commissioners allowed one of these batteries to be installed by Wilkinson Solar at Terra Ceia, near a school.
