The Heritage Foundation released its Education Freedom Report Card.

The report measures four broad categories (School Choice, Transparency, Regulatory Freedom, and Spending) that include more than two dozen discrete factors.

In the inaugural 2022 Education Freedom Report Card, Florida took the top spot followed by Arizona and Idaho. On the other side of ledger, at 49th, 50th and 51st were New Jersey, New York, and the District of Columbia.

And where does North Carolina rank?

The Heritage report ranked the Tar Heel State 15th overall. That ranking was a composite of the state's ranking on school choice (11th), transparency (34th), regulatory freedom framework (13th) and spending rank (3rd).
