Commented on If we keep doing what we have been doing we will get what we have always gotten—a poor performing school systemAll I care about is if David Hudson is a conservative. How about the two Republicans running. Are they conservative? The two Democrat board members seem to be nice people, but how can anyone be a Democrat these days? Maybe we need an interview with candidates. That goes for county commission candidates too.
To be more clear on school grades. It depends on if you are grading on a curve or not. Clearly, the schools get a very generous curve when compared to students.

Disney screwed up Star Wars and Marvel. Why should ABC be any different? The guy that runs ABC is a personal friend of Harris. What happened is what I expected to happen. The Fourth Estate has reached a new low. I expect them to go lower still.

Commented on If we keep doing what we have been doing we will get what we have always gotten—a poor performing school systemThe public should be aware that some of the comments on this site are part of an ongoing personal intra party battle. Some of the information presented here needs to be taken in that context. For example:
1. School scores below 40 are counted as an F for schools and are typically counted as an F for students under 60. 2. I do not know if HR has ever been a Democrat, but he obviously has not been a Democrat more than any Republican on the ballot. In this election that would be Randy Walker. Including this election with the one upcoming in two years that would be Frankie Waters. 3. Concerning some of the statements regarding school board members taking orders form a PAC, that all seems to be delusional. I'm sure there is more, but I'm too lazy and uninterested to look for it. We have plenty of important legitimate issues in this upcoming election. The personal hatred just muddies the water for people trying to inform themselves and turns off many of us that are keeping up with issues. Even though I am very interested in my community, this is the single reason I want nothing to do with local parties.

RH is exactly right. The authoritarian progressives among us want to extinguish the due process rights of the citizenry. Their big knee jerk excuse for doing this is to keep us safe from the crazy shooters. Of course, this progressive tactic is completely illogical.
Progressives want to erode people's protected rights in order to better control people. Those dummy or misguided followers of progressives haven't figured out that the end of protected rights might end up affecting them too. They are so focused on cancelling the rights of others that they have not figured that out. This country does have a mental health problem. That problem does need to be addressed. This country has a serious border violation problem that is probably our biggest national security threat. We also have a very serious problem with governmental agencies that have run amuck with corruption and gone power mad. They are a threat to the American people. The assassinations and attempted assassinations over the last 65 years are another issue entirely in relation to the gun rights issue. We are well overdue for an honest, serious investigation and study of those assassination events.

Interesting that the far left pro Repub (RINO) troll brings up 'consenting' sex. I suppose calculating sex like 29 year old CommieLaLa Harris and 60 year old married Mayor Brown bartering the concubine relationship in exchange for a California political career is an example of consenting sex.
But using Bill Clinton as an example of consenting sex turned my giggle box over hehehehe. I suppose that's one sex category for Billy Goat Bill: Such as consenting regular adultery sex with G. Flowers or consenting exploitive sex like 22 year old student M. Lewinsky interning at the White House. But with Billy the Goat there is a whole other category of bloody lip violent sex with a string of victims such as: J. Broaddrick, L. Millwee, P. Jones, K. Willey, C. Zercher, E. Wellstone, S. James, K. Hinton, and numerous University of Arkansas students. Yeah buddy. Great example. ![]()

Commented on Heartburn at the Beaufort County School BoardStan - Your firm's situation is just one more example of the warped politics in this county that ultimately works against the public interest. One would hope that public officials would place the public as a higher priority. That's not the case in Beaufort County. The priority here is petty personal grievances and petty public weaponization by public officials and bureaucrats. It's worse than childish. Unfortunately, we've got all that before we even get to the outright unpunished fraud.

Commented on Heartburn at the Beaufort County School BoardHere's the good news: The 8.20.24 school board meeting is finally up. Here's the bad news: There is no sound for the first 25 minutes of the meeting.
I am aware that members of the Aurora and surrounding communities were going to that meeting, so I called a school board member to verify. Sure enough, the sound was cut for all the speakers from the public which included a number of speakers from Aurora. Also found that board member Hickman made a statement that was not heard on the tape either. Hum. Coincidence? I've been hearing some rumblings from that part of the county. I think I'm putting my money on those folks having a legitimate gripe. ![]()

Commented on Heartburn at the Beaufort County School BoardMr. Rader - I too have seen a fair number of board situations, and I've not seen anything like this. My take on it is this is what you get when a very weak board hires an authoritarian superintendent. I think it is interesting that the three newest members are being treated this way as their welcome to the board. I know a little about some of the members and not so much about some of the others. I do know enough about the three newest members to know they are all over-qualified for this position, so they have got to know how weird this is.

Commented on Heartburn at the Beaufort County School BoardThe 8.20.24 meeting has yet to be posted at this time. I have not heard any first-hand account of the meeting that sounded at all like the Bp account. I do agree with W.S. about board members being active in the process. How about board members being ex officio members of such committees? They surely should not be shut out the way they are now. Also, am I understanding that this board has no standing committees?
On a related matter, has anyone noticed the way the school board is being filmed? Board member Shreve has to lean way forward to be on camera. Board member Hickman is hidden behind a column and board member Carlton is partially hidden behind the column; both are crammed in beside the school staff with the staff placed more prominently. Somebody put a lot of thought into all of this. Wow. ![]()

The attack on free speech is a major topic all over the free world, yet in America progressives claim to be oblivious to it. Maybe it is just that they are OK violating the free speech of others.

Am I to understand that the argument against a board member on a curriculum committee would be that it might be intimidating to teachers on the committee? That's pretty bogus when you consider that other staff members that may be on the committee have much more to do with hiring and firing of teachers than a school board member. School board members only have the ability to hire and fire a superintendent and that is only if they have a board majority.
Some of these arguments presented by the entrenched board members and the superintendent seem ridiculous. Do they really believe it makes sense to the public? ![]()

It is ironic because Bob and I should be allies on this community issue where people are not being held accountable. Because he refuses to see this as much bigger than race, we stay divided. Divide and conquer has been effective strategy for thousands of years - no end in sight.
