I was born in Raleigh. My father was from Wake County, my mother was from Beaufort County.

My mother was more of a moderate, my father and I; hardcore conservatives ... both of us from Wake County if you consider our place of origin.

You don't see many smart Conservatives from Wake County any more. It is a rarity of a newfound tradition, where an idiot mayor is elected in Raleigh, and Clueless Joe Biden gets nearly 70% of the vote.

The church where I was married, Edenton Street Methodist, is still closed for Covid ... Very sad how lack of courage and low intellect seem to walk hand in hand.

Alex, I heartily agree. Each succeeding generation appears to be just a wee bit less aware of what is real and more knowledgeable of what is popular.

I am a member of NCACC (North Carolina Association of County Commissioners). The NCACC is functionally many things, the greatest of which is that they lobby the NC General Assembly to do what is best for counties, which is odd because what they feel is best for counties is not always best for the people of these counties. I often find that I am intellectually in conflict with their directives.

With the Education Industry far from always doing what is best in educating our young Americans, county commissioners need to be less willing in support of any initiative that grants less control to parents, and more to what leads to less choice in doing what is best to stimulate the intellects of our newest countrymen.
