On Thursday, Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats was asked by Andrea Mitchell of NBC News whether he had heard that President Trump planned to invite Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to the White House for another summit. His answer: a stunned face, followed by the incredulous, "Say that again?"

He followed up with, "Okay...that's gonna be special." He was laughing at the time.

    Trump tweeted this morning:

Sarah Huckabee Sanders also tweeted that Trump had asked national security advisor John Bolton to "invite President Putin to Washington in the fall and those discussions are already underway."

Trump's first summit led to headlines around the world regarding his comments supporting Putin's version of 2016 election events over his own intelligence agencies'. No wonder Coats is less than pleased.
