Corporations do not pay taxes or fines. They simply pass them on to the consumer. What the left is really trying to do is raise the cost of energy to consumers and that badly needs to be stopped. The idea of a surcharge on energy to be paid by New Yorkers is a good one. That way consumers in other states will not be gouged for this far left bit of idiocy. The politicians pushing this crap are who have to be stopped. If New Yorkers have to pay out the wazoo for their energy, they will vote they clowns out of office.

Earth is simply in one of its long series of warming and cooling cycles that last multiple centuries. We came out of the last cooling cycle, known as the Maunder Minimum or the Little Ice Age, a particularly cold cycle in the 19th century and are now in a natural warming cycle, that has nothing to do with fossil fuels. The last warming cycle, known as the Medieval Warm Period was warmer than today, and there were no adverse consequences. We know where the coastal cities were in Medieval times and we know that there are no records of any "sea level rise". Further, the granddaddy of all warm periods, the Holocene Maximum when it was much warmer than today for three thousand years corresponded to the golden age of ancient Greek civilization. Again, we know where the coastal cities in Greece were at that time and there is no evidence in ancient Greek writings or elsewhere of any "sea level rise" then either.

Bobbie does not dispute that the BBC's claim of no sea ice at all by 2013 was proven to be false. All of the scare stories from the globalist warmists turn out to be false when they reach the date by which they are supposed to happen.

Government debt when it gets too extreme will often lead to economic disaster, as it did in Germany in 1923 when it took a wheelbarrow full of paper money to buy a loaf of bread. It almost happened to the UK a century earlier and if the Rothschilds had not bailed out the Bank of England, it would have. In more recent times there have been examples like Zimbabwe and Venezuela, even though both are very rich in natural resources, but leftwingers mishandled their economies with way too much debt.

A counter example is the economic miracle we are seeing in Argentina with the election last year of a Libertarian president, Milei. Milei campaigned with a chainsaw, revving it up to illustrate what he was going to do to government bureaucracy. The first thing he did was to eliminate about half of all national government departments and he has continued to take his chainsaw to government bureaucracy and programs and indicated Argentina will be leaving the Paris Climate Accords. Now the economy is booming, inflation that had been rampant in the country is now nonexistant, the budget is balanced, and he has just given all Argentines a big tax cut.

President Milei of Argentina should be the model for Trump and for DOGE.

Strong economy under Biden? YOu must have been smoking something other than a tobacco product or just parroting propaganda from the far left talking points. In reality, our economy is facing devastating government debt than has mushroomed under Biden and will be difficult to get under control. The economy also is suffering some of the worst inflation in our history, 23% in four years, due to bad economic policies of Biden. Job reports have been a joke because they present something overblown, then months later revise it to much lower levels. Even then most of the new jobs under Biden have been part time or for illegal aliens. The percentage of working age citizens who are in the work force has declined under Biden. The Biden ecomony is stuck together with bubblegum and will need the expertise of Trump and his team to get it back on track.

Why in the world would Speaker Johnson engage in this sellout with Senate Democrats? All he would have to do is pass a clean 3 month continuing resolution through the House, and then let the lame duck Senate Democrat majority decide if they want to shut down the government over some pork barrel they want. My guess is they would not, but either way it would be a win for Republicans. Is Johnson just that stupid or is it there was some pork in there that HE wanted?

Comrade Bobbie is going full socialist on us on healthcare. Is that any surprise?

Socialized medicine kills with its lengthy waiting lists. In the UK, most doctors in the socialized National Health Service get private medical insurance so that they can get good and timely care in the parallel private health system because they know first hand how bad the socialized system is. Australia has a similar parallel system, but Canada does not, leading many Canadians to seek decent and timely medical care in the US.

I remember an article a couple of years ago in one of the British newspaper about three men all diagnosed about the same time with the same type of cancer at the same stage. One mortgaged his house and paid cash through a private hospital in the UK. He was cured. Another went abroad (India or Turkey if memory serves) to get treatment at a much cheaper cost. He was cured. The third waited his turn on the National Health Service waiting list. When they got to him, his results showed the cancer had progressed too far and was inoperable. He died. That is how waiting lists kill in socialized medicine.

Musk and Soros are alike in one way, the objectives for which they spend money are ideological, not self-serving financial, but they are opposite sides of the ideological divide. Soros is a globalist elitist and collectivist. Musk has joined the forces of individualism and liberty, taling a populist appreach. Soros works with groups like the WEF to promote their agenda. Musk works largely independently to promote his own contrasting vision. The area of censorship is a good example where Soros fights for the WEF vision of controlling the narrative through censorship, while Musk fights for free speech for all and against censorship.
Commented: Wednesday, December 18th, 2024 @ 12:16 pm By: Concerned Taxpayer
The one who has tried to "own us all" for a long time is George Soros who has spent billions promoting leftist collectivist globalism which entail a restriction on individual liberty. Musk is becoming the anti-Soros, an important counterweight to Soros' evil. Musk pushes free speech, for example, while Soros pushes censorship.

Musk wants to defend freedom. Heck, he even does not try to sway Trump's plan to end subsidies on electric cars, something Musk's own company makes.

WHile Obamacare had some similarities to Romneycare, it actually was a tweaking of Hillarycare. All of these socialized medicine halfway houses are a nightmare. Romneycare is a huge reason Mitt Romney should NEVER have been a GOP nominee.

Another huge factor in Obamacare getting off the ground is that the pro-China traitor Mitch McConnell refused to fight it in the Senate. McConnell, as usual, was prostituting his office to special interests instead of representing Republican voters.

And Little Bobbie has totally misrepresented his earlier post, which can easily be seen by scrolling down to it.
Commented: Monday, December 16th, 2024 @ 5:01 pm By: Concerned Taxpayer
What Obamacare has done, and it was predictable based on what happened with a similar government program in Australia, was a massive consolidation within all aspects of the medical care industry. Instead of lots of independent providers to choose from, we now have big conglomerates for the most part, both in insurance and in actual provision of care. This has made the system more impersonal and less user friendly. The Democrats' hope was that getting to that stage would encourage citizens to say "Aw, heck, just let the government do it all." That would be going from the frying pan into the fire.

Simply repealling Obamacare at this point would accomplish little because it is more the changes Obamacare instigated that are the problem than Obamacare itself. A path forward needs to be found somehow to encourage more insurance companies to get back into medical insurance so we have some competition, and to unwind these medical conglomerates like Vidant, which are now everywhere in the country. That is a tall order, but something needs to be done because the present system is a huge mess and socialized medicine is much worse.
Commented: Saturday, December 14th, 2024 @ 7:44 am By: Concerned Taxpayer
I guess everything is about race to a race hustler like Bobbie, but our Obamacare mess is NOT. It is about a longterm scheme by leftwing Democrats to capture our health system. Their first big play was HillaryCare during the Clinton regime but that bombed. Those who concocted what later became known in popular culture as "Obamacare" were actually white leftists, many of them retreads from HillaryCare.

All of the regulations and rules of Obamacare are what led to the mass centralization of our health care, including health insurance, that destroyed choice for American consumers. Here in Beaufort County, we had two independent hospitals prior to OBamcare, but post Obamacare, Vidant in Greensville bought both and closed one. Vidant also bought up many of what had been independent doctors offices. All of that was driven by Obamacare, and that consolidation is not good for consumer choice. Similarly many of the insurance companies that used to offer health insurance got out of that business after Obamacare, and that also destroyed consumer choice.

HillaryCare would have done exactly the same. That was all predictable since that had also been the result of Australia's government medicine program called Medicare, which had also seen massive consolidation and centralization in health care, to the point that a subsequent govenrment that looked into ending Medicare (the Australian equivalent of Obamacare) found that all of the centralization that had occured made it impossible to go back to what had previously worked better for Australians.

Oh, and as to those insurance companies, I am sure you will find their stockholders are of all races, and so are their employees. This is NOT a racial issue, dude.
Commented: Friday, December 13th, 2024 @ 9:49 am By: Concerned Taxpayer
What broke our health care system was Obamacare which destroyed competition and forced a massive consolidation in health care. It reduced the number of insurers and raised insurance rates significantly for many while also reducing coverage for many. In many of the Obamacare "makerplaces" there is now only one choice of insurance companies for consumers to "choose" from. These monopolistic or oligopolistic conditions breed poor customer service. At the same time, many medical practices that had been private were pushed by Obamacare to sell to large medical conglomerates, like Vidant in our area. Again, the destruction of competition was devastating for consumer choice.

Can the mess that Obamacare has created be unscrambled? It will be difficult because of all the consolidation that has happened. Some insurance companies that had offered medical insurance got out of the market due to Obamacare, and it would take massive changes to get them back in.

There are a few good options out there like the Christian-based Medishare.

It could be worse, Many Democrats push "single payer" otherwise known as socialized medicine, where "death by waiting list" is all too common as in Canada and the UK. At least the UK does have a paralel medical system with private hospitals, doctors, and insurance. Most doctors in the socialized National Health System buy private medical insurance becaue they know from first hand experience that the care is better and more timely in the private system.

Given how screwed up our state Board of Elections has become under 8 years of Democrat control, it is no wonder that the legislature has moved it from the governor's office to the state auditor, where it will be under Republican control. Now finally, we can hope they will comply with federal election laws that are designed to promote election integrity and make cheating harder.

President Trump is going to change the climate on climate change here in the US. Getting us out of the absurd Paris Climate Accords is a key, and it hopefully will be done by declaring it a treaty, which it is, that must have Senate approval. It is an outrage that Obama and then Biden put us into this mousetrap by executive action without Senate approval.

This should be a wakeup call on how Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) is a threat to privacy and freedom. Many states, including North Carolina are passing laws to require that for government transactions, cash must still be accepted. There is legislation in Congress that needs to be passed to prohibit the Federal Reserve from proceeding with its CBDC project.

If we only had CBDC, the government could find out erverything about anyone they wanted. We are already seeing how government can coerse banks to giving up this info on political opponents.

Senior citizens who have paid into their pensions all their working lives deserve to get what they were promised. Migrants who are parasites and moochers don't deserve a darn thing from the taxpayers. They should be totally cut off from taxpayer paid benefits here and in Europe. That would stop a lot of them from even coming.

What is maddening is Biden doling out money like a drunken sailor on his way out the door. He just promised a billion to Africa for natural disaster relief when his FEMA leadership has been missing in action on hurricane relief at home. Congress did not approve that Africa money. Shortly before that he promised $5 BIllion to prop up a failing EV company that instead should have been put out of everyone's misery in bankruptcy. He pledged more billions at the recent UN climate conference, and all of this without asking Congress. Biden is also doling out billions to climate alarmist organizations. I hope Trump is able to get all that money back.

Here is what the IRS whistleblowers had to say:
“President Biden has the power to put his thumb on the scales of justice for his son, but at least he had to do it with a pardon explicitly for all the world to see rather than his political appointees doing it secretly behind the scenes. Either way it is a sad day for law abiding taxpayers to witness this special privilege for the powerful.”

The corrupt Biden / Garland DOJ tried to make this case go away completely. First, they deliberately let the statute of limitations run out on the tax charges for the time Hunter was operating in Ukraine, which would have implicated Joe. Then they tried to do a sweatheart plea deal to slap Hunter on the wrist with no jail time for a minor charge and dismiss everything else, but fortunately a federal judge refused to go along with that miscarriage of justice.

The Hunter Biden charade illustrates why it is essential for President Trump to appint strong people to clean up the cesspool of Biden / Democrat political hacks at DOJ, FBI, and other agencies.

The utter corruption of Big Tech censorship is illustrated by the way they colluded with the MSM to throw the 2020 presidential election by actively suppressing the true story on the Hunter Biden laptop. This was done entirely for political purposes and according to polling data changed the outcome of the election. This should never be allowed to happen again. Our country has suffered a lot of misery as a result. Those who censor information like that need to go to prison for a long, long, long time, Censorship is un-American and it should be severely punished.

Hurricanes can take out electric power temporarily by taking out the electric transmission lines, but those can be restored reasonably quickly. Conventional power is much more robust. Coal, oil, gas, and nuclear power plants do not go down and are there to supply power when the lines get put back up. The left is trying to make our electric grid much more vulnerable to hurricanes by switchin to power sources, wind and solar, that are extremely vulnernable to the powers of a hurricane. Thousands of solar panels and dozens of wind turbines were damaged or destroyed by Hurricane Helene. They take a lot longer to replace, many months, than the power lines. The more dependant our electric grid gets on wind and solar, the more vulnerable we are to long term, months long, blackouts from hurricanes.

George Washington freed all of his slaves in his will, a process called manumission. It was fairly common, usually focused on slaves who has earned particular favor, but sometimes as with Washington, applied to all slaves owned at death. That is a large part of the reason why there were more free blacks in the South than in the north at the time of the War Between the States.
