Germany, which is obsessed with wind and solar has the higher electric rates not only in Europe but in the world and has for some time. Poland is the other end of the scale with little wind or solar and a lot of coal power, and they are the cheapest. Why do morons Roy Cooper, Phil Berger, and Tim Moore think we NC electric ratepayers want their expensive wind and solar they are ramming down our throats?

Spendthrift Frankie Waters lied to the voters of Beaufort County in his first election by pledging to oppose building a new jail. He is a big spender and a Democrat-in-Drag. Waters first choice would be to borrow the money without voter approval if he could get away with it. I do not believe they have time to set up a bond referendum for November.

Just watch the slaughter of NC's sea birds if Cooper gets his offshore wind turbines built. RINOs Phil Berger, Tim Moore, and Jim Perry also have their fingerprints on that monstrosity.

Rev. Wortman's religious background may mean she sees conservatism only through the lens of social issue conservatism. She may not comprehend what a fiscal conservative is. She clearly does not understand the conservative approach to taxing and spending.

On our present county commission, we only have two strong fiscal conservatives, Stan Deatherage and Hood Richardson. On the other end of the spectrum are the three spendthrifts who vote in lockstep to keep taxes high with their overspending - Frankie Waters, Ed Booth, and Jerry Langley. They are three peas in a left wing pod on spending. The other two commissioners vacillate back and forth on spending issues, sometimes voting as fiscal conservatives and sometimes as spendthrifts.

Longtime Republican Congressman Walter Jones was mentioned earlier, and he was cut from the same cloth on budget votes as Deatherage and Richardson. In representing our district, he was a very strong fiscal conservative, and he routinely voted against any budget that overspent, and that was almost every budget. There were times that RINO Speaker Boehner would do a budget deal with Obama and twist arms of Republicans to vote for it, but Walter Jones always said NO and voted for the taxpayers, not the swamp. Deatherage and Richardson have the same backbone on spending issues. We need more like them. Hopefully Tandy Dunn will put spendthrift Frankie Waters out to pasture.

Why has Locke switched sides on NC's Green New Deal??? Who has bought them off??? HB951 is far more radicial than the EU's Green Deal which was causing European electric rates to skyrocket well before the Ukraine crisis. HB951 is climate alarmism run amok. Locke used to present good sense on this issue, but now they are in league with Biden. Are they just trying to protect RINOs Phil Berger and Tim Moore who are responsible for this nonsense? Is Locke now run by establishment hacks instead of conservatives?

Conservative policy outcomes? They left out the Green New Deal, the RINOs in the General Assembly imposed on us, a huge shift to the left that will cost our electric ratepayers a bundle. They left out their attempt to give us the Obamacare Medicaid expansion. They left out the RINOs caving in to those who think men should be allowed in womens' restrooms and shower rooms. They left out the RINOs screwing up our election laws. They left out Tim Moore's spineless refusal to let the Parents Bill of Rights go to a vote. Conservatives can do A LOT better in the General Assembly.

Frankie Waters has been a phony from day one. He is a big spender and big taxer, or in other words a Democrat. He lied about his positions on issues to get elected the first time, plus his silly "zip code" argument. It is all too plausible that he was recruited by the Democrats to run as a false flag candidate. There is not a dimes worth of difference between Waters and Langley.

Glad to see Tucker laying this out. Too many conservatives are afraid to challenge this climate nonsense. Heck, we have RINO leaders in the NC General Assembly, Tim Moore and Phil Berger who are in bed with these lefties. So is the "conservative" prime minister of the Netherlands.

Who will be our champion to push for cheap and reliable energy here in the US? President Trump certainly would be at the national level, but who in North Carolina? Phil Berger and Tim Moore have sold out to the Net Zero enemy on energy. Maybe Mark Robinson?

The UK is to be commended for its U-turn away from Boris Johnson's climate crazy madness.

Jim Perry does not seem to care what the "little people" think. He is all about the special interests. I read on another site that a delegation of party activists from Craven County went to Perry's office to ask him to vote against the Obamacare Medicaid expansion and part of what Perry told them was "I don't represent you." Craven County IS within Perry's new district, so that comment was apparently NOT based on geography but upon his distain for those who work in the GOP. The idea of writing in someone else on the Libertarian line on the November ballot is a good one.

That is badly needed Stan. We have had too many instances of insider shananigans with bidding in Beaufort County. You have hit the high points of transparency and fairness.

NC's HB951 will definitely cost NC electric ratepayers money, not only from the fact that wind and solar electricity costs more than conventional electricity, but also from the fact that the bill allows Duke Energy to prematurely close coal burning electric plants and add the cost of their premature closure to consumers' power bills. Woke Duke Energy wanted out of the coal business and now the legislature is making customers pay for having that woke corporate wish come true. Duke's ESG preening will cost their customers some serious green.

One wonders how much Phil Berger and Tim Moore were paid off to be nothing but operatives of Duke Energy and the wind and solar bandits. They have screwed electric customers to the wall. They are no different than those hard left Democrat legislators in Virginia.

Biden's college loan giveaway is nothing but corrupt vote buying with the taxpayers' money. The timing of it makes that obvious. This is just one more reason he should be impeached.

Jim Perry, the RINO senator from Kinston we will be stuck with after January played a big role in doing this outrage to NC electric customers. Unfortunately nobody filed against him in the new district. Hopefully, we will have a conservative alternative in the 2024 GOP primary, but for this year I plan to write in for our old State Senator who was gerrymandered out of office by the RINOs due to his standing up against the solar and wind boondoggle. I may have to write Bill Cook in on the Libertarian line, but that is who I am going to vote for, NOT that special interest lapdog Perry.

The last two Czech presidents have been in the minority of world leaders with their heads screwed on straight. Neither is likely to be popular in Davos. President Zeman also openly called the Muslim migrant influx into Europe an "invasion" and said it should be defended against like any other invasion.

I wonder if they played the same power game the NC RINO leadership in our General Assembly did to force feed the horrible HB951, the NC Green New Deal to our state. Real Republicans need to primary these turncoats.

The Green Bad Deal is hurting all western countries while Red China laughs at us and keeps building scores of new coal power plants. Thunberg might as well be an agent of the ChiComs and the same can be said for US politicians pushing the same line of garbage like RINO NC Senate leader Phil Berger and RINO NC House leader Tim Moore.

I remember when someone posted side by side a huge banner for Thunberg in a California city and a huge banner of Hitler from Nuremburg. The arrogant scowling expressions of both were incredibly similar.

It is no surprise that the National Association for the Advancement of Crooked Politics (NAACP) went after election integrity measures like photo voter ID that make their sleazy politics more difficult, but what is the deal with their wanting higher taxes? Do they think that will mean more welfare? Whatever their reasoning, what the Democrat-controlled Supreme Court did on both issues is a power grab and an absolute outrage. Anyone who respects the rule of law and knows the danger of activist judges needs to turn out to vote in November to turn these Democrat scoundrel justices out of office.

HB 951 will cost both taxpayers and electric ratepayers dearly, and it is just disgusting that Berger and Moore abused power the way they did to impose this far left climate alarmist crap on North Carolina. Berger and Moore betrayed Republican voters and, indeed, all North Carolinians, and they need to be removed from office. Here in Beaufort County, we need a real Republican to primary special interest hack Jim Perry for the State Senate. Perry was an active player in this monstrosity, too, a real Democrat in Drag.

This monstrosity of a tax bill was passed by a party line vote. EVERY Democrat has their fingerprints on it. No taxpayer should vote for ANY Democrat. They all want to up our taxes in a recession and send an army of militarized IRS auditors out to squeeze us for taxes.

When Republicans get back control of Congress, they need to zero out the budget of the FBI. This agency has gone so rogue and gotten so politically corrupt, it cannot be saved. It just needs to be eliminated.

No wonder Slann would not reveal where she stood on taxes and spending in her failed campaign. She is a Biden-style big spender and her doubling down on support of this boondoggle shows it. Beaufort County does not need to be wasting taxpayer money on this socialism. There is lots of other unnecessary wasteful spending in our budget like that ridiculous propaganda czar they created with a $95,000 a year salary.

The Democrats have changed the wording of their 15% corporate tax so that it now falls on 18,000 small businesses. Biden said he would not raise the taxes on small business. If he signs this monstrosity, he will be a liar. www.breitbart.com

Roy Cooper is a liar, but then what else is new? Offshore wind power is MUCH more expensive than conventional power. It is costing the Long Island Power Authority in New York four and a half times as much wholesale as they are paying for conventional power. It also destroys fishing grounds and leaves our power supply highly vulnerable to hurricanes for long term power loss. Offshore wind is even more expensive than onshore wind. From an environmental standpoint, it is also harmful to seabirds, marine mammals like whales and dolphins, and to crabs and lobsters.
Commented: Friday, August 5th, 2022 @ 12:39 pm By: Concerned Taxpayer
Pushing more of this expensive and undependable wind and solar energy with taxpayer subsidies will also do to our electric rates what they have already done to our gas prices.

In the corrupt way of Washington payola, Manchin apparently sold out the electric ratepayers and the taxpayers of his own state and of the country for a gas pipeline to West Virginia.

Tom Campbell is a progressive hack who spews mindless propaganda for the Democrats, and always has been. I guess this leftie propagandist somehow gives "balance" to this site, but the political lies he spews are a bit hard to handle for conservative readers.

Polling in the US also shows that "climate change" is not a concern of the American voter. It consistently polls as one of the very lowest priorities of Americans. Yet progressive politicians and RINOs want to run up our gas prices and electric rates to tilt at this windmill that average Americans care nothing about. They are seriously out of touch with grassroots America.
Commented: Wednesday, August 3rd, 2022 @ 5:50 pm By: Concerned Taxpayer
''Green energy'' is a consumer ripoff. The ''environmentalist'' groups pushing this scam are funded by both the Russians and the Chinese. They want to push Europe and the US into expensive and unreliable wind and solar electricity while they keep using conventional electric sources that are cheaper and more dependable, giving them an economic advantage. Republican Congressmen have traced how the Russian money comes to the "environmental" groups by way of a shell company in Bermuda to a major leftwing funding clearing house in the US, and from there directly to major "environmental" groups. Nobody will do anything about it, however. These "environmental" groups are stooges of Russia and China, doing their dirty work to damage our economy.

Manchin needs to be defeated. He is as phony as a three dollar bill. The taxpayers of America are getting reamed by this legislation, and it is full of stuff Manchin has always claimed he was against like subsidies for buying electric cars. Meanwhile we are taxes to death and our electric rates will soon do what our gas prices already have.

It is not just Biden. Roy Cooper here in NC and his RINO bootlickers in the legislature already have the climate alarmism train on the tracks in our state. Thanks to RINO sell-outs Phil Berger and Tim Moore, our legislature passed a radical Green New Deal bill last year, HB951, that is more extreme than the EU's "Green Deal".

Just as he did on the big spending and inflation inducing so-called Infrastructure bill, Tillis is supporting the Democrat and Biden agenda against that of North Carolina Republican voters. Tillis makes Benedict Arnold look loyal to his cause. In this case, North Carolina voters in a Constitutional referendum voted decisively to oppose homosexual marriage. Tillis is going with the national progressive Democrat agenda against what the voters of his own state have clearly shown what they want. Tillis might as well join "the Squad" as his ideology is similar to theirs. I have held my nose to vote for Tillis in the past, knowing he was not a solid Republican. I will never make that mistake in the future. I wish I could take back my vote for him in the last election. Tillis has turned out to vote more like a Democrat than a Republican.

Who is responsible for those bad energy policies in NC exposed by the Locke Foundation? The RINOs! NC's Green New Deal, HB951, is the source of those terrible policies that will drive up our electric bills and lead to blackouts. The RINOs, not the Democrats, are the ones behind it; Speaker Tim Moore, Senate President Phil Berger, and yes, the guy who will be Beaufort County's Senator after January, RINO Jim Perry.
Commented: Tuesday, July 19th, 2022 @ 2:18 pm By: Concerned Taxpayer
Our taxes are too high in Beaufort County because there is way too much of this type of special interest garbage in the county budget, protected by Frankie Waters. We need to dump the tax and spend politicians.
Commented: Tuesday, July 19th, 2022 @ 8:08 am By: Concerned Taxpayer
Biden's next inflation driver is wind and solar energy, which is much more expensive than conventional energy, and much less reliable. This will not only drive up the cost of our electric bills but also the cost of everything manufactured with electricity.

Sadly the RINO leadership of the NC General Assembly, Speaker Tim Moore and Senate President Phil Berger are in the tank with Biden and Roy Cooper on the wind and solar boondoggle. Their HB951, the NC Green New Deal is even more radical than the EU's "Green Deal" and it will cost NC electric ratepayers dearly. Another RINO to thank for this fiasco is the State Senator Beaufort County will inherit through redistricting, Jim Perry (R-Kinston) whose fingerprints are all over HB951.
