Big Bob fits right in with Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Castro, and lots of other dictators who took away guns for people control. It is a necessity to establish a dictatorship. The New York Times published an article in the mid 1930s about how one German state had to take the guns away from the Jewish people because the Jewish people were shooting Nazis, and they reported that nonsense with a straight face. Then in 1938, Hitler's Reich gun law took guns away from everybody. I'll bet those Jewish folks wished they still had their guns when the Gestapo came to send them to the camps. While criminals should not have guns, only totalitarians want to take them from law abiding citizens.

This is part of the steady march to an authoritarian single payer system like Canada or the UK with horrendous waiting lists for people to get care. ECU Health is part of Big Medicine in promoting this. Republican lawyers who voted for this left wing wet dream should be ashamed of themselves. You are involuntarily transfering hundreds of thousands of North Carolinians who now have private health insurance onto the government dole at the taxpayers expense. If they qualify by income for Medicaid, they have to get Medicaid, and can no longer keep their private health insurance, and that sometimes means they cannot keep their doctor. Taxpayers are also being screwed to the wall to pay for this. Big Medicine is an enemy of American freedom, and Republican sellouts who voted for this bill are traitors to Republican voters.

Exxon's board was infiltrated by rabid climate alarmists. That was engineered by Larry Fink (an apt last name), CEO of woke financial firm Blackrock at Exxon's last shareholder meeting. Fink voted the proxies of the many state pension funds that Blackrock manages to force these eco-loons onto the board. That is why a parade of states, including North Carolina is either removing Blackrock as manager of their state pension funds or at least taking those proxies away from them. Fink is very active in Klaus Schwab's totalitarian World Economic Forum.

The School Board did NOT "investigate" 28 curricula. That is apparently the number the ultra-liberal Cooper-controlled state Board of Education approved, all "woke" to one degree or another. Superintendant Cheeseman handpicked a committee of school staff (NOT the school board members) who selected this SAVVAS curriculum and that was the only one presented to the school board, take it or leave. It was like a Soviet ballot - only one choice, yes or no. This is incredibly arrogant for staff to treat the elected decision making body this way.

It was refreshing to see our new conservative school board members do their own research on SAVVAS, which is easy enough to do these days with a computer. It is a very "woke" company, which even had its MATH curriculum rejected in Florida for being injected with "woke". A controversy in Arizona over SAVVAS' science curriculum that claimed that there are more than two genders even made the British newspaper.

Do I detect a little sour grapes on your own loss in the School Board race?

Hardly "access to health care". What Obamacare Medicaid expansion does is push 120,000 North Carolinians who now have private health insurance, mostly as a benefit of their job onto the Medicaid dole instead. It makes those 120,000 North Carolinians no longer eligible for private health insurance and forces them onto a welfare type program. Many doctors who take private insurance do not take Medicaid, so that will deprive some of them of their doctors. This does these 120,000 North Carolinians no favors.

Oh, and North Carolina has just been informed that we will have to pay the feds another billion dollars a year for the state's part of Medicaid.

This is about making people dependant on government, not about providing better health care, and it stinks. Those Republican legislators who betrayed North Caorlina on this will never get my vote.

Phil Berger and Tim Moore are spendthrifts for backing this taxpayer ripoff Medicaid expansion. They are betraying the taxpayers of North Carolina. So is that Jim Perry. Having worked in state government in the department that oversaw those hospitals, you have at best a half truth. It was the left saying that it was more humane to put most of the mental patients out on the streets responsible for the major downsising of mental hospitals. Tht fact that the Democrats who then controlled federal spending because they controlled Congress did start cutting funds played some role, but the ultimate decision was made at the state level, and that again was by the Democrat Jim Hunt admnistration, backed by a Democrat controlled legislature.

Mental hospitals have always been a state function, NOT a federal function. The left thought it was better and more humane to put the inmates out on the street. The major downsizing of mental health hospitals in North Carolina occured during the administration of Democrat Governor Jim Hunt. The drunks and drug addicts were previously the long term homeless, and this added a big new component to them.

Another issue of huge concern to conservatives is the Obamacare Medicaid expansion, which RINOs are trying to sell us out to the special interests on. So far the House is standing firm against it, with Keith Kidwell one of those helping hold the line. Natural climate change IS real. It changes every year between winter, spring, summer,and fall. It is cold in winter, hot in summer, and warm in spring and fall. Then there are the longer natural climate cycles running multiple centuries. We came out of the last natural colling cycle, known to climatologists as the Little Ice Age or Maunder Minimum in the 19th century and have been in a natural warming cycle since. The last natural warming cycle, the Medieval Warm Period was warmer than it is today. The longest natural warming cycle, the Holocene Maximum, lasted three thousand years and was much warmer than today.

Manmade global warming? That is just leftwing political poppycock, now being used by the globalists to try to scare people into giving up their freedoms. The immediate past president of the Czech Republic, Dr. Vaclav Klaus, wrote a very good book on that subject, "Blue Planet in Green Shackles: What is in jeopardy, climate or freedom?".

Oh, I know that the biggest doomsday cult in history, which ought to be called Climate Scientology, keeps trying to scare people with their dire predictions. But you know what? Dozens of their dire predictions have already passed the date they were supposed to happen, and not a single one of those dire predictions has actually come to pass. In fact, not a one of them was even close. With that record of false prophecies, only a blithering idiot would believe anything they have to say.

Exxon-Mobile? Larry Fink of ESG machine Blackrock inserted three climate crazies onto their board of directors at their last stockholder meeting, one of the reasons many states are withdrawing their pension funds from Blackrock. After that, anything they have to say on the subject is very highly suspect.
