Under Biden-Harris, gas was more expensive than it is now. Yes, I would like gas to have stayed down to where Trump pushed it, but I also comprehend the danger of allowing a country that sponsors "Death to America" rallies, calls us "the great Satan" and has a doomsday cult religious stance to create a nuclear weapon.

Utility prices are also on the rise, due to Biden's Green New Deal pushing expensive and unreliable wind and solar over cheap and dependable gas, nuclear, and coal. Overall Bidenflation has been created by massive government spending.

When far left agitators attacked ICE law enforcement, one with a vehicle and one with a gun, they won their Darwin awards. That is nobody's fault but their own.

Everybody here illegally needs to be deported. We have immigration laws on how people are supposed to apply to immigrate. No one who sneaks in should ever get priority over those on the waiting list trying to do it the right way. If we have extra immigration spots, they should go to those on the waiting list who applied properly, not be given to arrogant border jumpers.
(commented on August 18th, 2026 @ 7:18 am)
It is not at all complex. there are millions of illegal aliens in our country, many of them deliberately let in by traitors in the Biden regime, who need to be gotten OUT of our country. The Democrat traitors who let them in are trying to gum up the works on getting them out. One of the ways they do that is by doxing ICE employees, requiring them to have to wear masks to prevent the doxing.

ICE is not "untrained" and are not a "secret police". That is ANTIFA nonsense. When President Eisenhower did the same thing on rounding up illegal aliens and sending them home in Operation Wetback, the Democrats of that era did not resist. The radical socialist anti-American Democrats of today, however, do.

What needs to be done is start punishing Americans who harbor illegal aliens. That has long been a felony in federal law, and those who do it need to go to prison.

Washingtonian's "hope and change" pitch for Armstrong tries to present him as "new" to politics, but Armstrong is NOT. Not too long ago, Armstrong was a registered Democrat in Hyde County, and he did engage in politics there, DEMOCERAT politics. Armstrong was a Marc Basnight Democrat, and wrote big 4 figure checks to Basnight.

It tells you a lot about Armstrong's political ideology that he has never given a nickel to a Republican legislator or legislative candidate but he had no problem writing a big check to Marc Bashight, a notorious liberal power bully. Armstrong may be new to Republican politics but he is not new to politics generally. He is a warmed over Basnight Democrat trying to reinvent himself as a Republican.

No wonder Armstrong does not want to talk about issues. No wonder Washingtonian cannot identify one single issue on which she can try to claim Armstrong has a better, more conservative position than Kidwell.

We have too many useful idiots for the left and the RINOs who ignore real issues and vote on silly personality matters instead.

WE have a conservative Republican with a proven and very solid conservative voting record representing us in Raleigh. Why in the world would we want to replace him with a warmed over Bashight Democrat who was recruited by the RINOs? Serious voters vote on policy and issues, not get their panties in a twist over personalities.
(commented on January 18th, 2026 @ 3:06 pm)
Still can't come up with a single ISSUE you think Armstrong is better on than Kidwell, JV???? That "Christian Zionist" thing did not work any better than MTG's "Jewish Space Lasers".

You and those like you here can only whine about personality and your own hatreds. Most of us are more interested in the issues and policy legislative candidates will push in Raleigh. I see that Washingtonian also cannot seem to come up with a single genuine issue, but just keeps plddling along with that Obama-style "Hope and Change" message.

Lets look at a few issues.

The only policy issue Armstrong mentioned in his announcement was "2nd Amendment" but on the campaign trail, he says he is "pro Second Amendment but not as much as Kidwell". What does that really mean? His three special guests at his fundraiser were opponents of gun rights. Frankie Waters dumped on concealed carry for county employees. Steve Traxler is so hated by gun rights people that the leading state level gun rights group endorsed the Libertarian against him in the last election. Jimmy Dixon is the man who killed Constitutional Carry in last year's legislative session. Armstrong is clearly someone we cannot trust on this issue. Kidwell, on the other hand is one of the strongest voices for gun rights in the legislature.

Or take Shrimpgate, Phil Berger's attempt to destroy our NC shrimp industry to pander to an environmaentalist special interest, the CCA which dangled dollars in front of him. Armstrong has made noises about supporting the shrimpers, and tried to get a shrimper to take him out on the water for a photo op. The shrimper declined because he was running against Kidwell who was one of two key players in saving the shrimp industry from Berger. Armstrong had to settle for taking a picture on land with some shrimp boats in the background. Now, commercial fishermen have become aware that Armstrong was seen in Greenville, out of the district, trying to solicit support and probably money from a key leader of the CCA, the group that is trying to put the shrimpers and other commercial fishermen out of business. How two faced can a politician get?

Kidwell laid out where he stood on the issues when he was first elected, and he has honored his promises. That is the sort of elected official we need. Armstrong doesn't tell you where he stands on much, and when he does, he appears to be speaking with a forked tongue.

Again, I invite you to discuss real ISSUES, not some gibberish about 5D chess and various "guards".
(commented on January 17th, 2026 @ 5:42 pm)
WE get it, JV. You vote on personality, not issues. Could you name one actual ISSUE where you think Armstrong'a position is better than Kidwell's???? One actual ISSUE???? Not personality, ISSUE.

You sound like those who refused to vote for Trump due to his personality, even though they agreed with him on the issues. People thinking that way gave us Biden. Were you one of them?

Its kinda funny Mr. Davis puts out this woe as me facebook post, saying its not him... Post the video and lets see the the car, that matches his, and the other evidence that is presented here... Mr. Bobby Hodges is a man of integrity and asked for this just to stop... Mr. Davis is a THUG with a fake education, that was fired for cause. Look at the FOIA request for fiduciary reporting from the NC Election committee; as well as the fact he IS NOT an ordained minister, as he claims to be; he HAS NOT graduated with an formal degree from Duke Divinity and the NC School of govt degree he is claiming, is nothing more that just a basic 30 day class advisory attendance, that he completed the little class that is open to ANYONE... It is NOT what he is making it out to be...

When the screws are tightened, something will happen and he is hospital bound to try and move attention to a "woe as me moment" and distract away from the real issue.... watch and see!

Nicely written and insightful. I am alternately horrified by the reports of political correctness run amok at our universities and concerned that we are training our youth to lack courage, convictions and problem-solving capabilities. Your stance is a refreshing reminder that there are still some millennials who can thrive in the real world. Keep up the good work!

“These individuals, according to Garris, were no longer members of the committee as she had unilaterally removed them from the committee late Tuesday evening, the 6th. Garris stated that Executive Committee 2nd Vice Chair Janet Knight, former Washington City Council candidate Sheri Clark and Commissioner Hood Richardson had been removed from the committee for reasons of party disloyalty”.

This sounds very much like another democratic scheme to remove opposition from a decision. Garris MUST be investigated as to why she thinks party loyalty has been committed. Democrats and RINO‘s are lying tricksters who create scenarios in their head, then transplant that thought into reality.

I'm Roland Wyman. Someone mentioned me in one or two comments. Sorry I gave the wrong impression, but I AM NOT a Liberal... far from it. I was not part of the Sadler group and further, I was not even involved in government during his tenure. The only reason I am not a registered Republican is that there are aspects of their national platform that I don't agree with. There is nothing about Liberals that I agree with. I just wanted to set the record straight. I hold the Constitution dear and fought for it during the late '60s. I believe strtongly in 2A. I was a marksman and I have carried concealed since leaving the military.

Protesting injustice is simply taking a stand. Protesting things that don't exist is disruption for the point of disruption.

Case in point: MLK, Jr leading protest marches for civil rights was taking a stand. BLM blocking highways and burning cities is disruption.

Yes it would. Our parents' message got thru to us. Many think protesting is the Christian thing to do. Protesting is not biblical.

I'm not sure that touch typing class is needed. My 12 year old can type 60 words + 12 emojis per minute without any training.

We bring in MBAs at work and no one could possibly read their writing...but no one does because they never have to submit hand-written work. The good thing is that they can read their own hand-written words when they take notes. Most of them don't use paper anyway, as they type on their laptops or tablets.

Smartfella, what classes exist now that didn't exist at Jesuit High School back in the day? When a new class is needed, does the school have to drop a class to make room? I'm thinking yes, unless they extend the school day or get rid of summer vacation. Just a thought!
(commented on March 18th, 2016 @ 11:53 am)
This is exactly why young people should have children sooner. Before you call me crazy, consider that with 2-3 kids in the back seat, there is no energy or attention to use for texting. Besides, young parents have to keep one hand free to wipe noses and apply a bit of discipline (both are allowed under most states driving laws). Clearly we need a campaign to encourage teen pregnancy, "Kids are the Kure for Kareless Driving!!"
