News Release:

GREENVILLE, NC     Uptown Greenville is pleased to announce the winner of the 2015 Uptown Storefront Decorating Contest: Crave Uptown Restaurant and Bar.

Storefronts were voted on by the public through an online voting tool hosted on Uptown Greenville's website. Voters were encouraged to consider originality, light displays and overall appearance. Crave will receive a $250 cash prize and bragging rights for the year.

"We are thrilled to have won the Uptown Storefront Decorating Contest," said Jeremy Jordan, co-owner of Crave Uptown. "It's great to be able to create a festive atmosphere for our customers and passersby to enjoy."

The Uptown Greenville Storefront Decorating Contest is an initiative that encourages Uptown businesses to transform their brick-and-mortar establishments into glowing facades with light creations and winter wonderland displays to encourage people to visit Uptown during the holidays.

"We are excited to be a part of the unique Uptown business community and are happy to be able to be a part of the ongoing revitalization of Uptown Greenville," said Jordan. "We believe Uptown is the heart of the city and we couldn't be happier to be a part of it."

Crave recently overhauled their business, expanding the menu and completing renovations to the inside of the building. The restaurant still offers a wide variety of vegetarian fare, but they have expanded their menu to included offerings such as flatbreads, tacos, and a popular Friday seafood menu.

"The dining room has been remodeled exposing the original brick walls of the 1920's era building, and new lighting has been installed to create a welcoming ambiance," said Jordan.

In 2016, the restaurant plans to continue tweaking their menu evolving to provide what their customers want, keeping the favorites and rotating in new options to keep things fresh and new. They also plan to keep their event space full with programmed events such as local and touring bands, comedy and social dance nights. Crave's event space is available to be reserved by groups for private events with or without their catering services.

Uptown Greenville commends all of the participating merchants for making the Uptown district festive during the holiday season. Greenville residents, students and visitors alike are encouraged to stop by all participating businesses to view the festive décor and complete their holiday shopping in the coming weeks.
