Shutting down coal power plants causes electricity price to spike 80% | Eastern NC Now

Shutting down perfectly functional, cheap and reliable coal fired power plants to transition to expensive and undependable wind and solar carries a massive sting in the tail for electric customers in terms of much higher power costs.  That scenario is underway for North Carolina thanks to the RINOs giving us HB951, North Carolina's Green New Deal, which has already given us a recent 18% electricity rate increase, the first of many to come.

That scenario has just played out in the Australian state of New South Wales, whose Labour government has just needlessly closed their major coal fired power plant at Liddell to move to reliance on intermittent wind and solar.  The result was an almost overnight 80% increase in electricity prices in the state.

HB951 will shut down North Carolina's coal fired power plants.  One of the key supporters of that awful legislation was the senator (mis)representing Beaufort County in the state Senate, liberal RINO Jim Perry of Kinston.  Duke's Christmas rotating blackout was a quick result of the first coal power plant closure in North Carolina..  Woke Duke Energy plans more of the same, approved by the Green New Deal, HB951.

This is not the first Australian state to have this experience of electric rates skyrocketing from switching from coal to wind and solar.  The former Labour state government in South Australia led the way on that.  In their 15 year reign, South Australia's Labour govenment closed and blew up all of their coal power plants and built lots of wind and solar, declaring their state a "renewable energy superpower".  The result was that residential power prices went from the lowest in the world to the highest in the world and rolling blackouts became a common occurance.  The political result was that a minor party opposed to "green" energy won three of the state's federal senate seats and the conservative coalition parties ousted Labour for control of state government.  But it was too late, the damage was done.

Lets hope some real conserevative oust the RINOs and Demcorats before they do the same thing to our power prices.
