Commented on Conservative Republican Club Meeting July 21Fiscally conservative budgeting involves techniques like zero-based budgeting. The Langley - Waters coalition use big spending techniques to keep spending and taxes high. The county commission has two conservatives, Deatherage and Dunn running and two big spending liberals, Waters and Booth, for three seats. We need to elect both fiscal conservatives, and defeat one of the big spenders, and it really does not matter whether that is Booth or Waters.

Russia has been funding major US environmental groups for years for the purpose of undermining American energy security, as happens when we start depending on fickle sources like wind and solar. Republicans in Congress have tried to get this Russian funding of US environmental groups properly investigated but the Democrats stonewall it.

The EU in pushing the totalitarian WEF agenda is threatening the freedom and prosperity of European countries. The Dutch prime minister is a WEF and EU bootlicker (or should that be jackboot licker?). The EU is rapidly becoming the EUSSR and more countries need to declare their independence from that mousetrap as the UK did. The Dutch farmers are fighting the battles of freedom against authoritarian globalists. Hitler used environmentalism the same way the globalists use it today, as a crutch to achieve total power and control over people. Climate alarmism is a politicized fraud and needs to be stamped out.

Commented on Political money...Cause for concernThere is unquestionally too much power in the hands of the RINO leadership in the NC legislature. The core cause is not the money, it is the ability of the Speaker to succeed himself in the House, and the end of divided power in the Senate. Prior to 1989, Senate powers were divided between the Lieutenant Governor and the Senate President, so that power could not be concentrated either place. Most of the Lt. Governor's powers came through Senate rules and when Republican Jim Gardner was elected to that office in 1988, the Democrats stripped his powers and concentrated them in the Senate President. The power arrangement you describe is the Basnight system, which was created by that concentration of power
In the House, the brake on concentration of power was the very longstanding tradition of one term speakers which began in the 19th century. That tradition was broken by Carl Stewart running for a second term in 1979 because he wanted to run for statewide office as incumbent House Speaker in 1980. His successor, Liston Ramsey decided he wanted to be Speaker for life. Regretably, Republican leaders in both house of the legislature picked up the bad power habits of the Democrats. The solution is simply, but probably difficult to obtain. Amend the state Constitution to require one term Speakers and restore the split of power in the Senate. The old system worked great, but based on legislative rules and on tradition was too easy to overturn.

Commented on Tillis reply about the gun control billThat Tillis defends the bad policy of bribing states to pass bad laws means that Tillis is a bad senator, and one we need to dump at the earliest opportunity. Supporting red flag laws is itself a red flag that the politician doing so needs to GO. Red flag laws are un-American because they are based on the Soviet concept of guilty until proven innocent instead of the American concept of being innocent until proven guilty.

House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy is another RINO but at least he has better political savvy than Mitch McConnell. McCarthy has announced his own opposition to the gun control bill and has his party whip Steve Scalise pushing Republican House members to vote against the gun control bill.
I wish Ted Budd was already in the Senate replacing that crooked RINO Richard Burr. Ted Budd owns a gun store himself and is solid in his support of gun rights and opposition to gun control.

The Senate running the Parents Bill of Rights was probably a smokescreen to begin with to deflect attention away from their Medicaid expansion bill that they were running at the same time. It is likely that they had a deal with Tim Moore all along to kill it in the House. This is the way the fake Republican leadership in the General Assembly often works. Moore and Berger both badly need to be replaced. They are too often in cahoots with Cooper while screwing the Republican voters.

Obama is like all the climate alarmist phonies. He says one thing while he does the opposite. He is putting in a huge propane tank to have access to real fuel, not windmills or solar panels. And if he really believed all that hogwash he spouts about rising sea levels, he would not have bought than mansion on the beach in the first place. Al Gore is another climate phony who recently bought a mansion on the beach, and Biden owns one, too. And what do all the climate alarmist mucked-mucks do for all their confabs? Jump on private jets. They consider themselves to be too important to fly commercial.

It is great that Mississippi still requires an actual majority to avoid a runoff. The RINO leadership in the NC General Assembly dropped this first to 40% then to an absurd 30%, and they did it with dishonest last minute changes that caught party activists off guard. In North Carolina, Palazzo's 31.6% would have made him the nominee, while in Mississippi that gets him a runoff he will probably lose. A 30% threshold to avoid a runoff is voter suppression. It is incumbent protection, nothing more or less.

What is needed is to arm vetted and trained teachers and staff. As a father of a victim in the FLorida school shooting pointed out "when seconds count, the police are minutes away." Making schools "gun free zones" makes them soft targets attractive to nutjobs. If they don't know which teacher or staff member will pull out a concealed carry weapon and shoot back, it is a huge deterrent. Polls show that the majority of Americans support arming teachers, so why do we have head-in-the-sand school boards who fail to take this important step to protect students?
For that matter, we have liberal county commissioners like Frankie Waters and Jerry Langley and Ed Booth who have opposed allowing county employees who are trained and licensed to concealed carry on the job. That helps protect both county employees and citizens.

There is little doubt what will happen in BoCo schools. Superintendent Cheeseman will go with the education establishment, like he always does, and recommend that boys be let into the girls restrooms and showers, claiming there is "no choice". Then the pathetic yes-men and yes-women we have on the school board will rubberstamp Cheeseman's obscene recommendation. If we had school board members with any gonads, they would tell the tyrant Biden to pound sand, and set up our own lunch program without federal money or control. We should also look to sue the Biden regime over this travesty.

Commented on Parallels in HistoryYour analogy linking Russia with the Unionist north of the War for Southern Independence period played out in the breakup of the Soviet Union, when anti-communist demonstrators carried the Confederate battle flag as a symbol of liberty and overthrowing the communist yoke in demonstrations against communist rule.
I had a friend who spent several weeks in Berlin during the period before and after the fall of the Berlin Wall. On a number of days before the wall actually fell, he had gone to a place he could overlook the wall and see the demonstrators on the other side. As a Southerner, he immediately noticed a large Confederate battle flag being waved by two men in the anti-communist demonstration. He noted the same men with that flag on a number of different occasions, and also noted a few smaller Confederate flags among the demonstrators. After the wall fell, his curiosity about the Confederate flags led him to make inquiries of East Germans who had flooded into West Berlin. What he learned was that Gorbachev had made a speech that was widely reported in communist countries comparing himself to Lincoln and "saving the [Soviet] union". That speech had led to anti-communists adopting the Confederate flag as a symbol, and apparently it was used in other anti-communist demonstrations in places other than Berlin.

Greg Murphy is running an ad that is at best a half truth, and is really a lie. He says "his opponent" is a lifelong Democrat. But Murphy has 4 opponents and does not say which one! Tony Cowden is NOT a lifelong Democrat, and is Murphy's top opponent. So it appears that a minor opponent has been a Democrat and by not specifying which opponent, Murphy expects voters to falsely conclude it is Cowden. Murphy is being sleazy, dishones, and underhanded and we do not need that in a Congressman.

Another political lie being spread in Beaufort County comes from the campaign of Butch Oliver who is calling his conservative opponent Donald Shreve "a liberal from New Jersey". In fact, Shreve is a native of Forsyth County, North Carolina and has lived many years in eastern NC. While Shreve wants to take meaningful action against Critical Race Theory in Beaufort County Schools, Oliver has helped sweep the issue under the table and put up a fig leaf. Shreve will be a voice for parents, while Oliver is a lackey for the school bureaucracy, particularly the superintendant. Shreve is the conservative in the race.

Using "patrioto" instead of "patriot" is popular, I am told, in the Q-anon movement.
Q-anon believes that there is a senior career bureaucrat who goes by the code name "Q" high in government who is an anonymous whistle blower on what the deep state is up to, a sort of deep throat in the deep state. "Q" comes from the special weapons guy with the same code name in the James Bond movies. Q-anon followers are sometimes colorful like the "Q-anon Shamen" who was arrested in the Capitol riot wearing animal skins and a horned Viking hat. A shamen is a sort of Indian medicine man. They also come up with ideas that are downright strange like the contention that there is a "Jewish space laser". All in all, they are prone to conspiracy theories. The persistent use of this term "patrioto" makes one wonder if Mr. Cratch and perhaps Mrs. Slann are Q-anon.
