Former Navy SEAL and author of "The Terminal List" Jack Carr reacted to "triggered critics" who have trashed Chris Pratt's new Amazon series based on Carr's book.

During the author's recent appearance on Fox News' "Tucker Carlson Tonight," Carr shared his thoughts about media and movie critics giving Pratt's show a 43% while the audience has given it a 95% [at that time], on Rotten Tomatoes. The comments were noted in a video posted by Carr on Twitter.

"It falls right in line with everything that I understand about the current culture and climate in America right now," the former Navy SEAL shared. "It seems to have triggered quite a few of these critics."

"The 95 percent viewer rating [which it was prior], audience rating, makes it all worth it," he added. "We didn't make it for the critics. We made it for those in the arena."

"We made it for the soldier, sailor, airman, and Marine that went downrange to Iraq and Afghanistan, so they could sit on the couch and say, 'Hey, these guys put in the work. They put in the effort to make something special and make a show that speaks to them,'" Carr continued. "And that 95 percent rating lets me know that we at least got close."

The series is a psychological thriller about "a former Navy SEAL officer" who "investigates why his entire platoon was ambushed during a high-stakes covert mission," a description on IMDb reads. It hit the streaming site on July 1.

On Rotten Tomatoes, critics panned it, giving it a 43% for the show's "pretty standard-issue, macho-man military conspiracy theory fare," as one critic put it. But audiences love it, giving it a score of 94% - and many are questioning the critics' low scores.

"The character development and story are excellent!" one fan wrote. "Really happy that Amazon is producing these kinds of stories and putting them out there, very binge-worthy! Chris Pratt is excellent, this is really a different character for him and he plays it so well!"
