Allow me to address (you really have no choice) the Lock Stepping of the Democrat Party.

To this day Democrats say Clinton’s Impeachment in the House was a Partisan Vote.

These are the Republican Senators Who Voted Not To Remove Bill Clinton from Office. (Remember the charges were Perjury & Obstruction of Justice & not doing nasty things in the Oval Office.)
1. Slade Gorton, Washington ... Not guilty on Perjury Charge.
2. Tad Stevens, Alaska ... Not guilty on Perjury Charge
3. Fred Thompson, Tennessee ... Not guilty on Perjury Charge
4. John Warner, Virginia ... Not guilty on Perjury Charge
5. Richard Shelby, Alabama ... Not guilty on Perjury Charge.
6. John Chafee, Rhode Island ... Not guilty on both charges.
7. Susan Collins, Maine ... Not guilty on both charges.
8. Olympia Snowe, Maine ... Not guilty on both charges.
9. James Jeffords, Vermont ... Not guilty on both charges. (Became an Independent -really a Democrat- in 2001).
10. Arlen Specter, Pennsylvania ... Not guilty on both charges. (Became an Independent -really a Democrat- in 2009).

Partisan Vote means all voters cast their votes strictly along party lines.

I say again...To this day Democrats say Clinton’s Impeachment in the House was a Partisan Vote.

This Is Not True Because...
• All Democrats voted Not Guilty (Partisan).
• 10 Republicans voted Not Guilty on at least one of the two charges (Not Partisan).

To this day I scratch my head every time I hear either Susan Collins or Olympia Snowe referred to a “Republicans”.

Bobby or Tony said in the below comment..."I have also been wondering whatever happened to the "My Good Friend" clause. It appears to have been surgically removed by Dr. Harry Reid; AKA "Dirty Harry, Dingy Harry, or Pinky Reid""
Actually it has been officially replaced my a new "Term Of Endearment" but we do not know what it is because every time a former "My Good Friend" uses the new term it is bleeped out. One would think that, in the interest of Full Disclosure and Transparency, this would not be happening but it is.

Ted, you got me thinking about your question about how we found the wounded at night. The following took place in several emails between me & another pilot I served with...
Me...I’m getting old. How did we find the pickup locations at night? (This confused the other pilot cuz, instead of typing out “we” I had pecked out “me”, as in, “How did me find the pickup locations at night?”)
Other Pilot... Whaaaat???
Me... “Vietnam...Flying at night...Since we could not see like in day time, how did we locate the pickup sites?
Did we just fly by compass, adjusted for wind, for our estimation of time to get that far & look down?”
(Actually it was more than just looking down. We talked on the radio, requested flares and looked down.)
Other Pilot... (After getting out of the Army, he flew for Offshore Helicopters in the Gulf of Mexico.) “That's it exactly. Worked well along with help from "Paris Radar" if within their range. To repay them we allowed those who wanted to earn an Air Medal to "crew" at night when enemy fire was not anticipated.
Time/distance and azimuth with wind correction angles worked well for me while flying around the northern Gulf of Mexico at night before Loran came along in the mid eighties and GPS in the nineties. Today's pilots feel totally screwed when they lose their GPS because they've become too reliant on it.”
And now you know The Rest of the Story.
AlexO
Lagniappe: Paris Radar came around after I left. It was a radar assist that helped our guys know where they were. I don’t know a lot about exactly how it worked.

Bobby Tony,
Enjoyed your comments from your Battle Diary.
Thanks for the Welcome Home or, as I have become accustomed to saying to anyone I meet who had been in Vietnam, "Glad you made it back".
Bobby Tony, Glad you made it back.

Be careful about mentioning things to me.

I'm gonna go find it & put it in BCN.

Excellent posting!

No, Bobby Tony, you did not learn this in school. This kind of a researched detailed explanation was never taught to our small minds.

I took note of the Obama Finger Picture that came with the posting. It made me think back to the Phoney I-Want-To-Open-The-Lines-Of-Communication-With-The-Other-Side Meeting that Obama staged on January 23, 2009 (yes, "staged" is the right word) right after he took office. The loser of the election, John McCain, had the temerity to ask Obama if he was going to work with the republicans. Obama said, “I won the election, John. Elections have consequences.” (wiseconservatism.com) Joe Biden thought that was real funny. John McCain should have replied as he got up to leave the meeting room, Excuse me, you highness, I thought you were here to hear what our thoughts were. He should have but he didn't. He just smiled sheepishly and said sheepishly something like this, Don't I know it.

Bobby Tony, you are right about small profits but that did not stop my father's customers from pulling his chain. I once heard this exchange between my father and one of his loyal customers...
Loyal Customer, "Mr. Ortolano, I don't understand how you can charge your friends these kind of prices".
Mt Father, "I've got to charge my friends these kind of prices because my enemies don't shop with me".

Another interesting commentary about New Orleans Grocery Shopping...In New Orleans, if someone said they were going to the grocery store to do their grocery shopping they said it this way, "I'm going to make groceries".

Comment #1 It is an undeniable fact of life that, when you drop a prescription pill on the floor, it will roll underneath the refrigerator or the stove. The more expensive that pill is, the further it will roll under the refrigerator or the stove.
Comment #2: Back in the time when there were small grocery stores, my Father owned a small grocery store. It as so small that the shelving was very high. We had a Grabber that could get to the top of the high shelves. It was about 9 feet long & had 2 grips that caused the grabber to grab. One was on the end & one was half was up the pole for use on lower shelves. I liked to grab a high up item & release it & catch it with my left hand. My parents liked to tell me not to do that. The biggest thrill was dropping a glass item. That caused my parents to pay real close attention to me not paying attention to them.
Comment #3: You referred to the length of the Grabber/Pincher. Credit for this one comes from George Burns about Ed Wynn. He said Ed Wynn invented the 11 foot pole that you used to touch people who you would not touch with a 10 foot pole.

Actually I think the 30 percentile might be the people who are thinking they may not be lying all the time.
On the other hand, Trump may be dragging them up because people may be thinking they might be going to actually get something accomplished.
Or it could simply be that Harry Reid is gone.

You guys are all finished talking about this one & I stumble in.

Am I right in thinking that those 1960s Protesters were motivated by anger at war, genuine conscientious objections, phony conscientious objections, etc. but Not Money?

Today things may be different. In many cases, we are told our modern demonstrators are paid money to get all indignant, shout, chant and/or carry a sign or two.

On February 3rd I published a blog about this possibility... forii.blogspot.com

I own a set of DVDs with all? their shows...
Kingfish once was trying to sell Andy a French Car that had no engine. To keep Andy from finding out he locked the hood with a pad lock. Eventually Andy asked the Kingfish what was the difference between a Kilometer & a Mile. The Kingfish tried to explain... Well, Andy, you see a kilometer is ahh ahh different from a mile is ahh ahh who know. (He was having a lot of trouble so he cut right to the chase). Andy, a mile is like a kilometer but it's different from a kilometer but with a kilometer you get there faster.

Interesting reference to "My Wife" meaning possession. Is that supposed to make My Wife mad? Well it does not. Maybe because My Husband (dat's me) is OK with me. Could be because, after 52+ years, one has a right to become possessive. Oh my gosh! Should I have said "right"? Was I Wrong to say Right? ... We are too hung up on words...Or are we?

Commented on River Cruise

The best trip I ever took was a river cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam. It was a full 2 weeks. I found absolutely nothing to criticize about any of it. I would like to take a river cruise again someday &, if I were told that the only one I could take was the exact same one I already took, I would do it. It was that good.

Kathy, good use of words (I just love words)... “What hit home as I looked at it was that there's no longer anyone around to ask.”
Count ‘em up...My Father had 6 Brothers & Sisters. Counting him, that’s 7 opportunities to ask things like, “Where did our relatives come from?” All I knew for sure was Italy.
Count ‘em up...My Mother had 6 Brothers & Sisters. Counting her, that’s 7 opportunities to ask things like, “Where did our relatives come from?” All I knew for sure was Sicily.
But I was young & I was busy being young. Now they are all gone &, the Ink Lady & I are both looking around & saying to ourselves, “there's no longer anyone around to ask.”

Give him credit.
He is only looking out for the American People.
We don't have any beaches in the Good Ole USofA & he is down there begging to get us some beach time.

Another thought...
A talking head last night said he ought to cut short his trip.
Come back home & organize the effort to protect us & spearhead the effort to go destroy ISIS.
Obama probably heard that comment & said to Michelle, "Even if I went home, I'm not going to be doing that protecting & spearheading stuff, so I might as well go to the baseball game. Besides, I promised Raul."

Stan, the Age of Information IS the problem. The young don't have to know anything. They can look it up. Actually they don't even have to spell correctly when they look it up. If they come close to the correct spelling, the software compensates & corrects & they get their "wisdom" sent to them.
Commented: Sunday, March 20th, 2016 @ 9:23 pm By: Alex J. Ortolano
Stan, you wrote...”the pragmatism at the expense of principle for the sake of connecting with an unwary public - this I understand.”

Remember I am a Picky Person. You brushed by the real reason why Trump is so popular.

It is not that the public is unwary. It is just the opposite. The public is very wary. The public is tired of being told one thing during campaigns &, once elected, the One Things are completely forgotten by the Now Elected Former Campaigner.

The Wary Public is Grasping at a Straw by thinking... All those others were politicians. This guy is not a politician. Maybe he will be different.

Kathy, regarding your reference to Ending a Sentence with a Preposition...

Sir Winston Churchill & Ending Sentences in Prepositions
Churchill once got upset with a publication that went to great extremes to avoid ending a sentence in a preposition. He wrote them a letter of protest, in which he proclaimed his disdain for this Extreme Grammatical Acrobatics. He finished his letter with this sentence... “This is the kind of supercilious nonsense up with which I will not put.”

A word of warning, do not go look this bit of trivia up in anything like Google. You will find many versions of Winston addressing this issue. For example, the Oxford Companion to the English Language (no edition cited) states that the original was, “This is the sort of bloody nonsense up with which I will not put”. I personally like the word “supercilious”, so I always cite that one.

E.B. White Went 4 Up On Sir Winston
He wrote that a father went upstairs to read a bedtime story to his son but he brought the wrong book. His son said to him, “Why did u bring that book that I don't want to be read to out of up for?”

Commented on The M&M Diet

The Smartfella’s Theory Of Fatitivity
All these diets are hurting us all! Have you ever thought about where a pound of fat goes when you lose it? I know where it goes & you are about to know.
Fat dissipates into the atmosphere. As a result of these all these pounds floating around in the atmosphere, the atmosphere is getting thinker.
I can prove it. When you were young you could run for a long time & not get tired. Now, if you try to run the same distance as when you were young you get tired very fast. That’s because the atmosphere is thicker.
I rest my case.
