Is school board trying to sweep CRT under the rug? | Eastern NC Now

no discussion on Critical Race Theory at meeting

ENCNow

In spite of the presentation on Critical Race Theory at the School Board work session several weeks ago, the board did not discuss its response at this month's board meeting.  Although some citizens had been told they could make public comments on CRT at this meeting, that was not allowed.

What is going on?  Is the board trying to crawfish and sweep the issue under the rug?  Are they trying to stall until filing closes for the board seats up in the next election?

The three Republicans who are up for reelection on the school board next year have been invited to speak at Thursday's meeting of the Beaufort County Conservative Club.  If they fail to show up, this will be another sign that the board is playing stall ball to not do anything about Critical Race Theory in our schools.

if those three incumbent school board members all fail to appear for Thursday's meeting, it will be time for conservatives to start looking for primary challengers to them and a general election challenger to the Democrat.

I went to the Beaufort County Conservative Club meeting on Thursday night looking forward to hearing from some of our school board members. There was a good crowd for the meeting, but not one school board member came. The no shows were a disappointment. There was one school board candidate at the meeting though: John Lacava. Mr. Lacava presented himself well and is highly qualified for the position.
