BBC admits he gave viewers "inaccurate impression"

ENCNow

The BBC's climate editor was rebuked by his own news organization for misrepresentations on wind energy subsidies.  BBC officials admitted he had given viewers "an inaccurate impression."  At issue were subsidies for offshore wind, which the climate editor had inaccurately claimed that offshore wind farms were "virtually subsidy free".  In fact, offshore wind energy is heavily subsidized by the taxpayer and / or ratepayer everywhere it operates.

It is good to see even a liberal news organization like the BBC taking steps against its staff putting out fake news.  It is unlikely that we in the US would see CNN, NBC, ABC, Washington Post, etc. doing that.

The Biden regime is flush with subsidies for "green energy" including offshore wind here in the US.  They are subsidized by taxpayers to be built and then by ratepayers to operate.  The Southfork Wind Project off Long Island is a good example.  Its construction was heavily subsidized by federal taxpayer subsidies and its operation by very high priced power rates.  The Long Island Power Authority has contracted by buy electricity from that offshore wind farm for four and a half times what they pay conventional power producers.  That, of course, gets passed on to consumers in their electric bills.
