The Iowa House has passed a bill requiring all public schools in the state to post their detailed curriculum online for all classes, so that parents can review them, and also to post online the titles of all books availible to students in their libraries.  This is a breath of fresh air of transparency for parents.

Great idea, but the curriculum needs to be open for all to see. It is not just parents whose taxes go to fund the schools, but all the taxpayers in the state. The taxpayers should have a right also to know what is being taught using their money.
