Highlights of the North Carolina Public School Budget was released last week.

The electronic document, commonly referred to as HIghlights, is produced annually by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, and is chock full of useful information about K-12 public education in North Carolina.

How many teachers are in North Carolina? What percent of public school expenditures is spent on salaries and benefits? How much did North Carolina receive in pandemic relief funds? If you'd like to find answers to these questions and others, you'll find it in Highlights.

One question you won't find an answer to is why Highlights was released in late April when the document cover is dated March 2022?

    Happy hunting.
