    When I was a tenth grade student, I had the good fortune to have an English teacher named MS. Comer. MS. Comer was an elderly lady who dressed plainly and had a gray bun a the back of her head. She was lively, loud and had a good sense of humor. She could have been an actress of sorts because literature and poetry came alive as it left her lips. Prior to public school teaching, MS. Comer had taught in a girl's reformatory school so she knew how to handle discipline even though I doubt she was over five feet tall.

    One day, I entered her classroom to find the following written on the blackboard: "Coach Palumbo is in the hallway recruiting football players". When everyone was seated and class began, Ms. Comer asked us to find fault with the quotation on the blackboard. Well, we all put our feeble brains to work and could not find any fault with the quotation. Capitalization was correct, placement of nouns and verbs was correct etc. WE WERE STUMPTED! At that point MS. Comer asked us how well we knew Coach Palumbo. There were football players in the class so some of them knew Coach Palumbo quite well. At this point MS. Comer said "you must not know Coach Palumbo very well if you AGREE with that statement. Coach Palumbo doesn't recruit football players, he works with those that show up to practice".

    We were not cynical enough to see the falsehood staring us in the face as we had adopted one point of view. In our everyday lives, this is occurring perpetually. We have untold numbers of liars spewing their falsehoods and many of us lack the effort or cynicism to look for the TRUTH. It's easier to accept the lie than put our "phony baloney detectors" to work

    If we are to put an end to lies and liars (self-servers), we will need to look at everything with a jaundiced eye because absolute TRUTH is only found in one place. THE BIBLE! Those who live in the world of relative truth (secular humanists) have led us astray. Until we begin to acknowledge ABSOLUE TRUTH and apply it to every situation we face (as our forefathers did) we will be lost in a morass of untruths and barbarism.
