Media leaders say they want "advocacy journalism" NOT objectivity | Eastern NC Now

new survey of media shows what viewers have been seeing already

ENCNow

For most of our history, objectivity has been the gold standard for journalism, even though it seems to have been followed less and less over the years.  Now a new survey of 75 prominent leaders in journalism reveals that they openly push "advocacy journalism" of taking sides rather than reporting the news.  They consider objectivity to be old fashioned. The report on the survey is entitled "Beyond Objectivity"

What they are saying is that journalists should actually be propagandists instead.  No wonder trust in media as shown in the polls is in the toilet these days.
