GOP county commissioner victim of political arrest wins court victory | Eastern NC Now

immunity lifted from Democrat politicians who had her arrested

ENCNow

A Republican county commissioner in Ohio who was the victim of a political arrest and is suing the Democrat politicans responsible has won a resounding victory in court.  In an 81-page ruling, a judge has lifted the immunity of the Democrats, allowing the case to proceed to trial.  Republican Trumbull County Commissioner Niki Frenchko continually objected to the reading of a letter from the Democrat sheriff at a county commission meeting, leading to the Democrat majority asking the sheriff's office to arrest her, remove her from the meeting, put her in jail, and charge her with a misdemeanor.  The misdemeanor was soon dismissed, and Frenchko filed a civil suit.

"Here in America, we do not arrest our political opponents" Judge Calabrese wrote in his ruling.  Maybe a copy of that ruling should be sent to certain politicized prosecutors who have politically targeted President Trump.
