sheriffs of 17 Maryland counties sue state over new sanctuary state law for illegal aliens | Eastern NC Now

The Democrat leadership in Maryland has turned the state into a sanctuary state for illegal alien criminals with a new laws.  Many of its county sheriffs are not happy with that move and are fighting back with a lawsuit.

Illegal aliens who commit crimes in the United States are supposed to be deported, which is a function of ICE.  Many Democrats, however, want to thwart that law and keep these illegal alien criminals in the US so that they can commit more crimes against American citizens. They create "sanctuary" cities, counties, and states that refuse to cooperate with ICE or to turn over illegal alien criminals, even those who have committed major crimes like murder, rape, and burglary.

Maryland's Democrat controlled legislature has recently passed a sanctuary state bill, signed by its Democrat governor which prohibits county sheriffs in the state from cooperating with ICE to turn over illegal alien criminals.  Many sheriffs are very unhappy with that law.  Some have said they will just ignore it.  Seventeen of them have filed a lawsuit against the state in federal court.  The sheriffs call the sanctuary state law "an intentional state mandated obstruction of public safety."
