Parler is back | Eastern NC Now

Its slow right now, but it is working

ENCNow

Free speech internet platform Parler is back up, after being bushwhacked by Amazon breaking its contract to provide server space in a political move to suppress free speech.  Parler now has its own system of servers, not dependent on renting space from Big Tech.  While existing users can get back on Parler, it will probably be a week or so before new users can sign up.

Amazon claimed that Parler was used by those plotting the January 6 attack at the Capitol, but an analysis by Forbes magazine showed that those planning the intrusion into the Capitol mainly used Facebook to plot strategy, not Parler.  That was just a ruse by Amazon to strike a blow against free speech.  The director of the division responsible for the attack on Parler has now replaced Jeff Bezos as CEO of the whole company.
