More questions arise about flawed NCGOP convention electornic voting | Eastern NC Now

who was behind the system?

ENCNow

With the NCGOP getting a big black eye from the malfunctioning of an electronic voting system used at the state Republican convention, and questions raised about the accuracy of the vote counts it dribbled out, more questions have arisen about the system and who was really behiind it.

When delegates downloaded the electronic voting app, the only logo on it was from Relyus, a major printing firm in Fayetteville which does lots of political printing work for the NCGOP, but had not been known to be in the digital operations business such as electronic voting systems.  On the day of the vote for chairman, the logo quietly changed to include the words "powered by Cardinal GPS" under the Relyus logo.  CardinalGPS is, or was, a political consulting firm located in Wake County, NC run by a consultant considered close to the NCGOP state chairman.  CardinalGPS was involuntarily dissolved for failure to file the necessary LLC reports in February, five months before its name was suddenly attached to the electronic voting system used at the convention.  There is not yet any information on how much the NCGOP paid for this system or who it was paid to.  It was acknowledged at the convention that the voting system had not been used by any other group prior to the NCGOP convention.
