A poll conducted for the John Locke Foundation by Cygnal Polling, Inc. has found that 71.7% of North Carolina parents are concerned that school classrooms have become places of political indoctrination instead of education.  Almost half of the parents, 46.8$ complained of teachers sharing their personal beliefs with students to try to influence their opinions, while only 35.4% disagreed.

The poll offered parents a choice of solutions, are parents were divided on which offered more promise.   35.7% believed teachers should be required to remain neutral in the classroom on controversial subjects, while 27.2% preferred prohibiting teachers from discussing controversial topics with studenat, 16.6% preferred requiring teachers lesson plans to be published online, and 12.1% thought cameras in the classrooms would be a better option.  8.3% were unsure of a solution.

Beaufort County has a way to combat this problem, elect the conservative slate of school board candidates - Charles Hickman, Gary Carlton, and Don Shreve.
