(commented on April 13th, 2026 @ 9:54 pm)To be clear and precise, a motion was made and approved unanimously to allocate $400 for a GOP Headquarters monthly plus utilities. The initial site was in disrepair and posed safety concerns. However, our great team discovered an alternative location in downtown Washington for less which includes utilities. What's not to celebrate? Isn't this the epitome of conservative values in action? For those who prefer, the stairs are always an option, and we'll ensure the entry is accessible to all. Instead of continuing to attack the hard work of valued volunteers/conservatives, try being positive and show some appreciation.

On the other races, this gives me a good reason to hold my nose and vote for Whatley. I always knew Buckhout and Brinson were solid choices.

Well I don’t vote Republican or Democrat, I vote for the best person for the job. Looking at the Sheriff candidates, I am really leaning towards Harold Bright. He has a no nonsense approach and has stated several times he is for all people not just a party. He has 30 years of service so I think he’s he smart choice. With all the turmoil our current Sheriff has put us in, I know we need change. I see my concerns about Mr. Rogerson still haven’t been answered but the theory about him being related to other candidates is scary. Just concretes my decision even more.
(commented on May 2nd, 2022 @ 3:15 pm)I am wondering if the voters in Beaufort County are asking the same questions I am about Democrat candidate Corey Rogerson? In May of 2021 Rogerson was fired by current Sheriff Ernie Coleman. Rogerson stated that he was given no reason for his termination. Sheriff Coleman has also failed to give us all a reason. I’m sorry but if I own a business and am looking to fill a position and an individual is applying for that opening, I would want to know why a person was fired from their previous employer. I also believe if anyone is fired from any job by their boss, they know why. Rogerson’s case just doesn’t make sense.
Rogerson only worked only 2 years as a Beaufort County deputy. In that 2 years I am sure he saw corruption or unethical things in the command staff and some of the deputies. Well did you not hear me say Rogerson was also previously a deputy? Rogerson did not have a problem then with the so called wrong doings and saw first-hand the so called problems that were there. My question is why did he not say anything then? Rogerson did not say a thing until it effected his pockets. All of a sudden he wants to become our savior? I’m sorry I don’t buy it. I think Mr. Rogerson is running for Sheriff due to a vendetta against the current Sheriff not because he wants to help anyone from Beaufort County. What better way to get back at a man than to try and take his job?
I did not ask these questions to belittle or cause anyone any grief. I knew if I asked these on Facebook or Mr. Rogerson directly, nobody else would hear the answers to these questions that a lot of us are asking. I pray Mr. Rogerson answers these issues honestly. I agree with some of the things Mr. Rogerson has said in his public forums but with the small amount of experience he has compared to the other candidates, I/we need more information.

(commented on January 20th, 2024 @ 4:58 pm)I was sincerely saddened to see our Board this past Tues.Evening spend nearly an hour responding to a political letter instead of doing the business of the people.
As I stated at the meeting, I fully support Beaufort County Schools to the best of my ability. Also, it is always my goal to be good stewards of our time and resources as board members.
As the political season continues, I hope we can keep politics out of our board meetings !
